  TRUST comes from Promise and Performance: the GB test

  trust is based on expectation (of a promise made) and performance.. i promise you something and you expect it; then, i deliver on my promise.. trust is established.. the watchtower society establishes trust by rhetorical promises, reassurances, constant repetition of features and benefits in the bye and bye: life everlasting vs destruction at armageddon.. they invite your trust by making wonderful promises---but--have they earned your trust by performance??.

  the watchtower governing body are like a gigantic bernie madoff promising fabulous returns on invested money.. the investor looks around at all the high-profile celebrities who are trusting bernie and say to themselves: "he must be trustworthy, look at all the others.".

  smoke and mirrors.. the rank and file jw looks around at the only friends (fellow jw's) he has/trusts and says: "they trust the gb, i should too.".

  Are there jw 'safehouses'?

  perhaps a member can provide some details regarding this matter.. my wife mentioned to me this evening that one of her younger sisters who is sort of close to the jw parents said that her parents had 'let the cat out of the bag' by stating that their house is a designated safe house in the event of a catastrophe (i assume this would be termed a natural disaster as opposed to a great trib type event).. is this true of the dubs?

  could it be only an australian 'thing', or is it a world wide directive of the gb?.

  On a similar note, one of the local congregations had a local needs a few years ago on "go-bags". Some Awake had an article re: preparation for disasters and keeping a bag filled with necessities in case people need to flee. The local needs turned it into a matter of faith and obedience to God that we would keep a "go-bag" in the trunk of the car. Twas the most ridiculous thing I had ever heard.

  It wouldn't surprise me if they had safe houses. I always figured the KH was supposed to be the safe house.

  I have a pub in my house with beer on tap--everybody can come here if they need to flee the latest conflagration!

  1) i think it's ridiculous to tell anyone when and how to use something they paid for ( computers and internet service ).

  2) i think it's ridiculous to tell married couples how to act in the bedroom.

  3) i think it's ridiculous to tell people what kinda cars they should buy ( 4 door for fieldservice ).

  Dear God,

  I am writing this letter to let you know tonight my Cat died. Now I know in the grand scheme of things this is not a big deal. The life of one little creature does not seem like much, and really maybe it isnt, but I had him for almost ten years and had grown quite fond of him. He will be missed. Strangley though, as thoughts will do, I started thinking about life and how fleeting and vain it really is. And if it is vain, who's fault is it? Adams? Eves? No. I think it is your fault. I think you are the reason we suffer and live miserable lives and then die. You say you love us, but where is the love? You gave your son so that we might live? 2000 years later the only thing we have to show for it is a front row seat to this circus of misery we call life...thanks. I watched my father in law die clawing at the air with his last breath trying to hang on to life. A life he gave to you! More than five decades he spent telling people about you. You (yes you) told him he would not die before the end came and yet this man, this 6' 2" man who spent his life working hard and raising his family and trying to do all you expected of him spent his last hours lying in a bed clothed in nothing but a diaper wondering why you had not fulfilled your promise. This begs another question: How many bilions of others have died like him? How many billions more? I am begining to think this is some cosmic joke. Or maybe it's just an experiment and we are all just a bunch of ants under a magnifying glass. What do you think? You wish to clear you name, I understand. But how long do you wish to take? We were told that you had to do this so the angels would not think Satan was right. But now those same angels must be wondering what the hold up is. I mean really after 6000 years and more you have to have cleared your name by now right? Oh well enough rambling I know you are busy. I eargly await your response,

  UN & Watchtower : link deleted....

  hi everyone, someone just made me notice that the pdf document on the u.n. website proving that the watchtower associated itself as ngo from 1991(demand) to 2001 has been deleted or is missing.

  http://www.un.org/dpi/ngosection/pdfs/watchtower.pdf i sent an email (very short since they don't allow more than 200 characters) to the un to inquire.

  i doubt that they'll respond.i suspect that the watchtower pressured the un to deleted that link.....
