For those that went to meeting what was the general response to this "new understanding" of "this Generation"? At my Hall I don't think anyone really got it or cared. Swallowed hook, line and sinker. Only 3 comments regarding this paragraph.

#1-Isnt it great how Jehovah creates different personalities? (Yeah, I dont get the connection either)

#2-Brother quoted verbatim what was in the paragraph.

#3-Another brother said how young ones are the same generation who fought in world war two.

That was it.

during that time i repeatedly vocalized my belief that "the end is near.

" however, what did this cost me?

Really. Say you don't think the end is near in a room full of Jehovah's Witnesses and see how quiet it gets....

America Never Even Joined The League Of Nations!

my knowledge of modern history might be a little thin, gained largely from the books of the wts and the "outworking of prophecy", so humour me if this is common knowledge to everyone else.. the wts has identified the characters in revelation 13 as being 1) the two horned beast = anglo american power, and 2) an image of the beast = the league of nations and later on the u.n.o.

but really it was only an image to the wild beast.. wt 1986 2/1 p6.

they did this by getting the nations to make an image to the wild beast.

It was however Woodrow Wilson's idea. But with a Republican Senate in control he could not get membership voted in. By not joining America seriously weakened any chances of success the League had.

since she was born in 1887, i am part of her generation since i was alive in 2003 when she died!

yes, i am part of the generations alive since before my great grandfather, because she was alive.

now if you don't understand that, you obviously are just plain stupid, or you don't have the spirit with you, so go out in service more until it makes sense!.

i cannot for the life of me understand why jehovah's witnesses don't see right through the b.s.

regarding their overlapping generation being equal to one generation.

also, i am a bit perplexed at how little certain jehovah's witnesses know their own doctrine.. take my wife, for instance:.

Contradicting ideas about Satan and governing ourselves

while listening to the special talk on sunday the speaker made a statement about something we have all heard a million times: satan is in control of this system and its governments and is the cause of mankind's ills.

but the statement made me think.

we all were taught that we are, during this time of the end, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that man is not capable of guiding his own step, in other words we need god.

While listening to the special talk on Sunday the speaker made a statement about something we have all heard a million times: Satan is in control of this system and its governments and is the cause of mankind's ills. But the statement made me think. We all were taught that we are, during this time of the end, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt that man is not capable of guiding his own step, in other words we need God. But could we not as humans legitimately say to God we did not get a fair shot at it since we had this powerful spirit creature hindering us every step of the way?

It seems like a contradiction to say that man cant govern himself and that Satan is in control, if we are not in control than we can not be blamed for not being able to solve our problems. And therefore it seems that the so called question that this is all about who has the right to rule is not a legit one, I just cant reconcile that this God vs. Satan power struggle is what this is all about, that explanation doesn't make since to me. It's like blaming a 3 year old little girl for not being able to defend herself against Bruce Lee.

Am I wrong?
