  I have been involved in child welfare through sport for many years. Every adequate Child Welfare policy emphasises one key point...

  If you become aware of an allegation of child abuse you WILL contact the police or social services. If a child doesn't want you to contact the police you will still contact the police. You should also inform the child welfare officer of your local club or national sport governing body. However this is secondary to your requirement to inform the police or social services.

  recently attended a special assembly day.. guest speaker was thomas chicky, a member of the us branch committee and the head of the us ldc (which has replaced the rbcs).. the last talk of the day is scheduled for an hour.

  it was the usual boring mumbo-jumbo.

  he appeared to have blasted through his hour-long outline in just about 45 minutes, so he "treated" us to informal comments on recent developments.. he commented on the new wt complex in fishkill ny.. then he dropped the bomb (well, to anyone with ears and at least 2 functioning synapses).. the following is not a word for quote, but presents the gist of his comments:.

  I am still puzzled about where the money is and why.

  I haven't heard a credible explanation yet. They are hoovering up huge sums of cash but you can only sell the family silver once.

  What on earth is going on? I will be surprised if anybody is getting personally wealthy. It's bizarre.

  as far as i know, the "creation" book is out of print ?, am i right?.

  well, i was searching for new watchtower articles trying to debunk, for instance, human evolution.

  so, i did my homework, for the first time, so as to read past and updated papers and books on human evolution.

  It is neither ignorant nor arrogant to claim that the god of christian theism - the god and father of Jesus does not exist.

  That much can be proven beyond all reasonable doubt. I submit that this thread is as compelling a proof as any reasonable person should require, but there is a lot more to be said about the evidence against the existence of Jesus' god. If you want to argue about the existence of some other vague concept of a higher power then I have no interest in discussing something so ambiguous. Once you make your mind up about which god you wish to defend let me know. I suspect it is the god of Jesus but you just lack the courage of your convictions to stick to the topic, and would prefer to boast about your IQ.
  

  I don't think I have ever engaged in, or observed, a conversation with a christian about the existence of god where the theist didn't eventually resort to a position of deism.

  I was alluding to Pascal's wager

  Pascal's wager is pathetic. It relies on the false premise that the non-existence of god cannot be proven and the lie that organising your life around a delusion is not too high a price to pay.

  Why would a just god reward somebody for pretending to believe something? Is he impressed by hypocrisy? Why would he punish genuine incredulity?

  Pascal's Wager is a call to moral and intellectual cowardice.

  That's not very logical for somebody with an IQ of 140. The spelling and grammar are also appalling - "unless you're an atheist".

  Either death is the end or it isn't. What an individual believes about that has no bearing on reality.

  So far there there is not a shred of evidence that death is not the final end of all conscious existence.
