The wonder of scientific research

this has possibly been brought up before however here goes.. constant reference is made by many posters to scientific research as being the only way to prove something factual that would otherwise have to be taken on faith.

there actually seems to be "faith" in scientific findings.. my experience over many years is that most scientific research is fake.

nothing oftencomes of the big announcements made to raise more money.. money, prestige, pride, human error, suppositions etc., are rife amongst the scientific community.. i realise that there have been many advances over hundreds of years but humankind is in a mess, although very different to even a century ago.. the medical profession now has vaccinations for everything, antiviral drugs etc.

The scientific method has transformed our world for the better.

The problem that you seen to be having is a common one. Most people are scientifically illiterate and easily misled by attention grabbing headlines in the popular press and on the Web.

Science is a brutal self-correcting environment. Understanding it takes a lot of attention and effort which most people don't want to invest. You can find a "scientist" who will support any daft idea you can think of. Assessing whether his or her statements are worth anything is a different matter.

i would like to remind those folks younger than i that it was very few years ago when almost the entire planet earth was run by and for the benefit of men.women have throughout history been the property of men.due to religious restrictions, teachings, and fundamentalist doctrines, women in the largest societies on earth right now (muslim, chinese, n.korean) have almost no human rights at all.next year, in june, women will, for the 1st time, be allowed in arabia to drive---but--only if they are 30 years old or older, and for only a few hours per day!the old testament laws (read through them sometime) are horrifying reflective of prejudice toward gender, bodily cleanliness, guilt-tripping, and anonymity.

The eventual purge of sexism adjustment is not complete and WILL NOT BE until everybody my age and slightly younger, has DIED and those who reared their children in sexist latent prejudices and mindsets have died also. - Terry

Almighty God poured out his anger on Christ instead of mankind as an atoning sacrifce buying back what adam had lost.

This is a JW-inspired understanding of the gospel. Totally alien to christianity.

No the more obvious outcome is that Jesus was a false prophet.

You have made the same claims on two or three threads simultaneously which makes conversation difficult - assuming you are seeking conversation as opposed to preaching.

If the gospel of the kingdom was proclaimed throughout the whole world in the 1st century why did the end not come as Jesus promised?

He was absolutely explicit that the parousia would occur within the lifetime of his first disciples. That is why it made sense to hapless fools like Peter to abandon his wife and family and trek around Palestine following the carpenter.
