Allow Sir Billy to explain - Giles Grey
Love that guy.
Here's Mrs C, at a mural of The Big Yin in Glasgow earlier this year.
thumbs-up gesture doesn’t covey much if we see only four fingers closed and thumb standing upward.
but if we look for the implied meaning, then it is a positive, informal signal indicating a job well done, and saying ‘keep it up.’.
similarly, biblical accounts don’t convey much if we see them as mere accounts.

we want people to learn ttatt.
we have numerous resources online to draw jws in so that they will wake up.
however, i've noted some radical methods that have been used by fellow exjws, and quite frankly, this must stop.
Morpheus - You are falling for the false dichotomy of the OP.
Yelling at old ladies or walking past JWs at the carts is not the only two options.

Confrontation. This may be you approaching a jw at a cart
I agree about not assaulting JWs but I find approaching JWs at carts to be very effective. I have had lots & lots of conversations with JWs at carts and I am certain I had a positive effect on at least a few. Keep it lighthearted, tease them with humour but there is no need to be nasty. Have a really good grasp of your topic and be concise. I had a great talk to a couple of JWs about evolution a few days ago in Edinburgh. The elder was being an arse but the younger lad was listening intently and asking genuine questions.
Occasionally if I meet an especially patronising elder I will - calmly and quietly - let them have a full-on verbal assault. Winning them over doesn't always have to be our priority. Sometimes it's good to just vent.
just walk past them. Ignore them
A million times NO!
Everybody walks past them and ignores them. You and I have the knowledge and skills to challenge them. Stop being so passive.
so this is just a general question.
call it curiosity.. what sort of phobias do we have?
heights?
None but I have a strong aversion to whispering. I have to cover my ears if there is whispering on TV or in the cinema.
I think it has to do with years of "sit still or else" threats whispered aggressively in my ear at meetings as a JW child.
quite possibly the most cringeworthy thing i've seen them do yet.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6tk88rstv6o.
haha that's tragic!

many people point to the irrationality in the depiction of god by the religions and their scriptures, hence jump into the bottomless pit of atheism.
in either camp, god is not a factor because religion is only a means that misrepresents god, hence religionists themselves are atheists (literally, those who live without god).
it is like saying there exists no earth because you found out your friend who taught earth is flat is wrong; or it is like saying mathematics itself is wrong because you found out your mathematics teacher made a mistake.
You and your cronies who use the Venus account are Brahma Kumaris cult proselytizers. Just like all the others who came before you, you lie about your purpose.
You talk utter garbage about science and promote an apocalyptic world view. When facts are presented that disprove your facile waffle you ignore them and repeat the same nonsense on a new thread.
Let me know if you actually have the courage to debate. Otherwise you are simply trolling.

Stop being so fatuous and deal with the facts.

Venus - You and your BK cult cronies are absolutely clueless about how evolution works despite numerous attempts to educate you. That is called wilful ignorance.
No species tries and fails to adapt to changing environments. Either a population contains the necessary genetic resources to deal with change or they don't. In the case of fish facing the challenge of warming oceans those individuals who are genetically disposed to be smaller and therefore consume less oxygen will be better suited to the change in climate. On average they will produce more offspring who survive long enough to reproduce and therefore the genes for smaller phenotypes will prosper in the gene-pool. If the environment changes to much or too rapidly then species become extinct.
Five times in the history of life over 90% of all life on earth became extinct due to rapid changes in the environment - and that was before humans existed. Life survived and recovered. All of life on earth today descended from the 4% species that survived the "Great Dying" of the Permian Extinction 250 million years ago.
These events prove the fact of evolution and natural selection to be beyond all doubt.
