If coming to drive in the UK please take care, I have twice met foreign drivers on the wrong side of the road.
Roundabouts are a great invention to keep the traffic moving at busy junctions. Observe to the right as you approach and give way to any traffic on the roundabout or entering from that side. There are some good YouTube videos that will get you up to speed on which lanes to use depending on when you intend to exit. ( see Ashley Neal for example)
(The CPS is currently trying to extradite the wife of an American diplomat who killed a young man by driving on the right and then fleeing back to the USA hiding behind diplomatic immunity)

just one is a little older that the other
So not co-eternal then. The minister undermined his own point.
It happens every time you ask a trinitarian to explain it in their own words. It's only a matter of time before it ends in a contradiction.

Proportional Representation vs Electoral Collages
by Simon inthe craziness of first-past-the-post elections .... we'll no doubt have to now live through the scotts demanding another referendum, because we may take their lands, but we will never take their freedom!
and so they want to be free of the uk, where they have a disproportionate influence in parliament, and be a little dot that's part of the eu.
yup, freedom.. but anyway, as it stands right now they have 48 seats after getting 1.2m votes.

Did You Know Any "Genuine"" Old School Anointed?
by Number 6 ingrowing up in scotland in the 1970s in scotland the anointed were few and far between, but we had one old dude in our cong who claimed to be one of the anointed.
in the days when it was taken seriously.. i'd be curious how you viewed them.
thing is, he wasn't an elder, or even a ministerial servant, just a plain old publisher.. but he was revered like he had a hotline to jesus.. the other week i was talking to a friend of similar age to me but who hung around the wt a lot longer than i did, and he just commented "oh him... he was a doddery old fool who used to just sit and piss himself.

We had 4 or 5 in the Coatbridge congregation when I was a kid. The Tuesday group was held in the home of an elderly couple who took the emblems. I remember them with affection. They owned a caravan at St.Fillans in Perthshire and quite a few of us from the congregation used to go on holiday to the same site at the old railway station.
John was prone to repeat many of bizarre ideas that Russell and Rutherford taught - God lives in the Pleiades, we will all be naked and speak Hebrew in paradise etc etc. He was a WWI veteran - neutrality wasn't a thing then. He would talk about the 'Evil Slave Class' who left the organisation when Rutherford took control.
I remember the beautiful bronze art deco lamp in their house in the shape of a naked woman holding the glass shade. As a young lad I was mesmerised by her. Probably still would be now!

Phizzy _ I would be genuinely interested in the reasons why you accuse Boris of racism.
Don't get me wrong I think there is plenty to criticise Boris about but I have no idea why his enemies stick this label on him.

the Evil Tory Racist Government... Phizzy
That is exactly what is wrong with current political debate.
When we attribute evil intentions to those we differ from there is no possibility of progress. Tory MPs care passionately about the NHS and injustice just as much as any other parties - despite the irrational rhetoric that echoes around the socialist social media bubble. But they also care about other sets of values that the far left don't. It's about balancing priorities. It's not about evil and racism.
You might want to read Jonathan Haidt's book The Righteous Mind. It helped me better understand why politics has become so polarised.

I can't begin to imagine how divisive another indy ref would be right now.
But the English hating bigots that dominate the conversation on social media would thrive on the chaos.

Upon learning of a terminal illness would you return to being a JW to appease your family?
by NVR2L8 inthis is an hypothetical question...i am doing well.
but i was thinking about how my jw family, grandchildren and all will feel when their inactive grandfather dies with no hope of being reunited in paradise.
of course there would be immediate rejoicing if i came back to the "truth" and a surge of conditional love from the "friends".

I got a visit in hospital the first time. Then when it looked like my demise was no longer imminent that was the last I heard from anyone.
