So if a JW carries on regardless socialising with their DF'd friend the elders cannot take judicial action? Surely that's a change is it not?

In the new KS-10 it says.......
If it is clear that a Christian is violating the spirit of
the disfellowshipping decree in this regard and does
not respond to counsel, it may be that he would
not qualify for congregation privileges, which require
one to be exemplary. He would not be dealt with judically
unless there is persistent spiritual association or
he openly criticizes the disfellowshipping decision. 116
This seems to say that a JW could associate socially (but not spiritually) with a DF's person with impunity as long as they had no desire to receive special privileges?

Hi Serein. Adjusting to life outside the borg takes more time for some than for others.
Learning to stop judging and just accepting people for who they are is really important. People around you are not "worldly", its not "us and them" any more. Your neighbours and others you meet are just ordinary people trying to enjoy life and look after their families. Many of them actually have high standards and strong ethics but they may not see many of the things you were taught to worry about as important.
Perhaps you can meet new people through hobbies or interests you may have?

In the brilliant movie 1980 by Willie Russell "Educating Rita" Michael Caine's character, professor Dr. Frank Bryant delivers a lecture while very drunk and abusive. The next day Rita asks him if he will get sacked (fired from his job)
Bryant replies, "The sack? God no; that would involve making a decision. Pissed is all right. To get the sack, it'd have to be rape on a grand scale; and not just with students either. That would only amount to a slight misdemeanour. For dismissal it'd have to be nothing less than buggering the bursar."
In watchtower world I think you may have just "buggered the bursar".
As long as you did not write much in the body of your email you should probably be able to plead ignorance. Good luck

The Doctrine of Hell
by Yizuman inis the doctrine of hell a hindrance or a help in witnessing?
many evangelicals are ashamed of this biblical doctrine, viewing it as a blemish to be covered up by the cosmetic of divine love.
but this dishonors gods word.

The foolishness of the classic view of hell is self-evident, but even if you develop a more sophisticated version of it the basic moral problem does not go away.
Eternal existence in either physical, mental or emotional pain is all the same. Its all an attempt at manipulation that ought to have died off by now. I suspect that outside Catholic countries and certain parts of the USA it is in terminal decline

Soldiers of Jah
by cofty ini would like to propose an ethical dilemma for those who believe in the divine inspiration of the bible.. in the following scenarios i am not asking you what you would have done but rather, what you hope you would have had the courage to do.. scenario 1. you are camped on the east side of the jordan waiting for orders to cross into the promised land.
moses is nearing the end of his life but he has some unfinished business to take care of before he hands over to joshua.
he announces that he has had an instruction from god to take revenge on the midianites before he dies.

In the long run, genocide or attempted genocide on the part of one group over another doesn't work because you never get all of them and what it creates IN the people trying to kill a whole other group of people is a contempt for ALL life that shoots them in the foot eventually.
That's a really important point. I have just finished reading "The Great War for Civilisation" by Robert Fisk. He was, actually still is, Middle East correspondent. He worked for The Independent newspaper for a large part of his 30 year career.
His book is uncompromising in describing the horrors of warfare in that troubled part of the world. From the Armenian genocide by the Turks in 1918 through the massacres in the Palestinian refugee camps of Shabra and Shatila in 1982 to Saddam Hussein's gassing of 5000 Kurds at Halabja in 1988 to the countless attacks on civlilians by both Israelis and Palestinians
I was left with an awful sense of pessimism for the future. There seems to be a never-ending cycle of violence. The cheapness of human life is sickening.
If there was a god who ordered his army to massacre women and children he dehumanised them in a way from which they would never recover
