for cellulitis/mastitis of the breast.

Hi all, and thanks for your kind thoughts. Scully that is some really interesting information. I do have two sisters that had or have breast cancer (One sister's breast cancer has mestastized; she is receiving chemo again.). I thought that it was odd to have cellulitis of the breast at my age. I'm going to insist, at my follow-up appointment, that he sends me to get a biopsy to rule out Inflammatory Breast Cancer.
I'm still not 100%. The breast is still swollen; but it is not red; just more bigger than the other; and it's still sore.
I'll let you all know what the doctor says after my next appointment.
...You know it's strange that I was scheduled to have a mammogram and bone scan on the day that I went to the ER. I wasn't able to go in that morning because the facility was having computer/electrical problems. I guess that it is good that they called and cancelled my appointment. I hate to think what would of happened if I had kept it. My breast would of, probably, been the size of a basketball!

Snoozy, I felt like crap. The high fever and my high heart rate is what made them put me in the hospital. I am on the mend now. Thanks for caring!

For cellulitis/mastitis of the breast. When I got sick, I didn't know why or what for. I had chills and a fever. My husband called my daughter to come over to check up on me. My daughter took my temp and it was over 102 degrees. I felt like crap. I thought I had the flu. My daughter MADE me go to the ER. When I got there, my temp was over 103. They checked me from head to toe but nothing showed up. They decided to keep me overnight for observation. The next day when I woke up, my breast was red and had swollen about two sizes larger than the other. It was hard as a rock and very painful. My temp stayed in the 100's for that day. It didn't break until the following day.
I had went into the ER on Monday night and I didn't get released from the hospital until Friday afternoon; and that was because I begged the doctor to let me go home. During the stay, I was on round the clock IV fluids and IV antibiotics. The antibiotics that I received were Vancomycin and Clindamycin. I will have to take the Clindamycin orally for another week.
Anyway, that where I was.
P.S. Yes, it's unusual for a postmenopausal woman to get this. Hopefully, that's all it is!
they are showing it on the awards tonight and i really want to see it...just wondered what people thought of it.
did you enjoy it?.
snoozy.
I haven't seen Precious. I'm scared that it will break my heart. Some movies can leave me upset for days. Just like the movie "Boys Don't Cry". And then, there's the movies that I can watch only once. . .anyway, I know that I'm going to watch it.

sorry for the spoiler :-d.
awildflower, I thought that Steve and Alec were funny, too. Steve had me cracking up when he and the "Precious" actor got nominated for playing the same type role a "kid from a poor Black family"; and when he said "Look! Dam (what's her name)!" And Alec corrected him and said that's "Dame! (what's her name)!".
...and the looks between Alec and George Clooney were priceless!
my sacroiliac and hip is stiff and sore.
i think it's going to rain or snow or something!

This is a long-standing myth, sort of like the myth that Vitamin C fights colds.
Atmospheric conditions (pressure, temperature, humidity) do not affect the temperature, pressure, or humidity inside your body. Therefore there is no plausible way that the weather could affect joint pain.
Anecdotes to the contrary can most likely be chalked up to confirmation bias, just like the vitamin C/cold thing.
drwtsn32, I know where you're coming from with the mythology belief; but I gotta tell ya that sometimes my bones do hurt with barometric changes. I googled this phenomenon and found out that doctors are starting to take heed to their patients beliefs. There were even some research studies done on it (if my memory serves me correctly). One research study was about edema and inflammation causing pain in arthritic joints during changes in barometric pressure. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/05/080530174619.htm

On Friday I found out why my bones are hurting. I have a severe Vitamin D deficiency. I have to take prescribed Vitamin D, 50,000 IU three times a week. I'm going in for a bone scan on Monday. I hope that I don't have osteomalacia.
My Vitamin D level is 5. Normal values run from 30+ to 70+.
So, it wasn't the weather that was making my bones hurt this time.
i'm not but i know some jws that have drifted but when things like 9/11 catastrophes occur, they're right back at the kingdom hall.. do you ever worry that the great tribulation might occur and you will die?.
I was just thinking, the "Rapture" and the "Great Tribulation" doesn't make sense. According to my mother's religion, during the Rapture, Christians will be "caught up" by God or taken to heaven. The evil-doers will be destroyed at the Great Tribulation. Then there will be a 1000 year reign of Christ over the earth? Who is going to be alive on earth if all of the evil-doers are dead and the Christians are in heaven? . . . The ones that didn't get preached to? IDK
