  Just watched the msnbc video about the defector. She says : "You're there to make a difference and to help people, and the people there themselves aren't happy". This was one of the main reasons I didn't like going out on field service. How can you encourage other people to leave believe in something which makes you yourself so intensely unhappy?

  Work Related: Am I correct for being angry?

  my manager expects (never directly ordered me), but expects me to have my work laptop booted up at home every evening after work, all weekend long and every holiday so i can monitor my email and promptly respond to emails.. .

  am i wrong for being pissed off about this?.

  the company i work for is always talking about their "work life balance" program for employees.

  Depends on what kind of job you have and how much they are paying you.

  Surely he doesn't expect you to be able to access your laptop ALL the time? Like out to the cinema, dinner parties, weddings, funerals etc? If you go away for a weekend mountain climbing does he expect you to be sitting in a tent at the top of a mountain checking your inbox??

  The stories of dancing round the fire could be true. Then again the defendant might have watched 'The Crucible' too many times.

  But seriously, adult male rape isnt something you hear too much about within the jws, is it? Paedophilia against little boys yes, plenty, but rape of men by other jw men? Pretty damn rare I would imagine. Anyone ever heard of a case of this in their cong?

  By the way, I think it's a little unfair to mock jws for their poor spelling, as a lot of jws have had little more than high school education, and many were pulled out of school early by their parents.

  I see plenty of ex-jw posters on this site who can't spell properly either, in fact that's often a good indication someone has had a jw upbringing.

  i visited friends recently - they accept me even though i have not been in months.. the wife remarked "if armageddon comes, we wont be worrying about the house.".

  another time, the (now ex elduh) said "when i retire, or armageddon comes, i want to < >".
