The biggest freak you ever knew in the jws?
by bulgogiboy ini find hearing about super freak jws quite entertaining, so if anyone has any interesting stories about the most mental jws they had/have in their congregation then please share!
the biggest freak i had in my cong was a guy who could literally read your mind.
i'm not kidding, i mean he appeared to have a profound psychic ability.

Does anyone else have a morbid obsession?
by bulgogiboy ini have to admit to having developed a very strong obsession with my own mortality in recent years, since breaking free from jw doctrine.
i think about death a lot, and if i really sit and think about it hard, i can freak myself out big time!
i dont want to think about it, and outwardly its not apparent to other people, but it is something that seems to pervade my thinking, something that haunts me.. perhaps i should be excited, because i realise that on the whole what i came to believe as a jw was fabricated, and maybe there is an amazing afterlife to experience, but at the same time i do tend to agree with jws about death being the end, i just dont agree with the whole resurrection claim they add on to it.. i have known two people who were temporarily 'dead' on the operating table, one of whom was dead for several minutes(one of these people is a friend who shrugs it off like it was nothing!).

The atheist experience
by bulgogiboy inhave you ever watched a show on youtube called 'the atheist experience'?
i'm not an atheist myself, more an agnostic/grudging and weak believer, but the show involves phone-in discussions between atheists and others, who often have a christian fundamentalist mindset similar to that found within jws.
it provokes thought and can be quite entertaining!

Reasonings on Armaggedon scenario
by bulgogiboy insomething that always bothered me about jw doctrine, perhaps the thing that bothered me the most about it actually, was the notion that people who die before armaggedon are, for the most part, entitled to a resurrection, regardless of their religious inclinations or crimes, while the vast majority of those same people, if they happened just by chance to be living at the time of the end, would be destroyed eternally.. i mean some jws were actually debating over whether infamous deceased mass-murderers and genocidal maniacs(hitler, stalin, pol pot, etc) would have any chance of resurrection, whilst at the same time almost casually accepting that basically most non-jws alive at armaggedon were to be for the chop!
so i was given the distinct impression of the armaggedon scenario that while the bodies of average, decent, everyday people littered the streets, seriously nasty and despicable individuals who had formerly committed henious crimes would be being brought back to at least 1000 yrs of extra life, if not eternal life.
it didnt seem just.

Is 'truth' a red herring?
by bulgogiboy inthis is a question for all, but especially ex-jws who may have transferred their piety over to another religion, and come to believe in another faith:.
is 'truth' regarding the meaning of life something that can ever realistically be obtained by human beings?
what is your idea of what 'truth' is?

Satan - such a bad guy?
by bulgogiboy ini am 95% sure that satan doesnt even exist (same for jehovah), but in theoretical terms at least, do you think satan was such a bad guy to question jehovah's totalitarian regime?
isnt there a little 'satan' in all of us ex-jws?
he employs critical thinking, questions the status quo, and goes against what has been deemed 'righteous'.
