The only "anointed" person I've got to know, the father of a friend, was a total fruitloopy nutcase.
Bless him. It takes a special kind of person to stick ones head out in a conformist religion and say "I'm different".
as an african american associate of jehovah's witnesses (since the age of 5, actually i remember going to the kingdom hall as young as 3).
i've always wondered why most of the annointed were and are white.
i know there are a lot of white people on here so why is it that there are.

about a year ago i went through a mild meltdown.
it hit me fast i had panic attacks and became angry with all the control in my life.
(being a jw) i had just found out i was being screwed on a real estate development project by another self righteous jw i have known for a long time but this was a big loss (about 4 months pay plus expenses).
I laughed out loud at your name. Welcome, Evidently!
I think "evidently" should be the new apostate codeword to go along with the secret handshake.
in my nervousness, i inadvertently deleted a well thought out post.
here is the short version:.
my co-worker shuns me completely unless i ask him work related questions.. he treats everyone else nicely and jokes with them, but not with me.. he can't bring himself to even look in my direction.. when i walk up to the area he's in, he hightails it to somewhere else.
Quill,
You are the one who accused me of being a drama queen on my other thread when I'm not.
I forgot that I called you a drama queen before. Now I really think you're a drama queen.

Joliette, it's fabulous that you're asking questions like this, since you've probably answered your own question already!!
If the "anointed" were a fair global group they would consist of about one-sixth Chinese, one-sixth Indian and one-sixth African men and women - nothing like the reality of Jehovah's Witnesses or their "annointed" sub-group.
Run baby run, as soon as you realize how bizarre this cult is.
my opinion is that atheism is not a belief.
it is a belief in no belief..
Great respect to both of you guys, Essan and AllTimeJeff. I still maintain that one can debate semantics without discussing whether or not deities actually exist.

Interesting how this debate has turned into a conversation about whether or not gods exist, rather than about a definition of atheism.

Goodness gracious help me Lord. Just ask him if he's a Jehovah's Witness!!! It's not illegal to be a Jehovah's Witness.
I suspect that you have a bit of a crush on him, and this post reflects more of your own obsession with Jehovah's Witnesses rather than his involvement with the religion.

There is an atheist group that meets at a restaurant here every week. They are the strangest bunch of freaks you will ever see.
An "atheist group"?
I can imagine a bunch of people who meet simply because they don't believe in god (or believe there is no god, or just don't believe in the relevance of belief) are pretty odd. Probably can't find anyone else to have a meal with. They should get a new hobby.
I hear the "adragonist group" isn't open to new members at the moment, and the "asandwichers group" doesn't do mixed worship.

There are nuances between the labels.
my friend says he has a magic sandwhich.
he says it cure cancer.
i asked him why and he said he has a very old cookbook that says so, and because he gave it to a friend with cancer and he got better.
He he. I'll have some of what you're drinking, bohm!! (Should we go Facebook hunting again?!!)
