Quillsky, what's your story?
by VampireDCLXV infor the longest time, quillsky was an impenetrable mystery.
no-one even knew what it's gender was.
it's time quillsky told us it's gender and more.

You all do have a choice! Go to gravatar.com and register with the same email that you used to sign up here. It's that easy folks...
Not gonna happen with me. I don't want the same image to be associated with me across the internet. I post on forums that have nothing to do with religion. Plus I have or have had a stalker or two and don't want to add to their means of identifying me.

You know, there are ways of telling a story without giving yourself away. I'll leave that in you trusty little hands, mystery lady...
Bits of my life make their way into many posts, because obviously my experiences have shaped my views. But don't hold your breath for a complete autobiography on this site!
It's slightly more complicated than a fear of being outed..... My close family knows I'm anti-Witness and love me anyway.

Thanks for your interest, Vamp.....
an impenetrable mystery
I like that, thanks!!
I've said I'm female in posts from early on, and probably have mentioned I'm a faded brought-up-JW. In some PMs I've shared my name and demographic stuff, but I have personal reasons for not doing it in public. I would have moved on from this kind of support environment by now, except that I have some close family members and dozens of relatives still in.
I enjoy sharing my opinions, and do so with boldness, and hope people are occasionally stimulated by them, whether in a good way or a bad way.
And if something I say can help even one person to gather the tools and courage they need to leave Jehovah's Witnesses, or even just cope better with their JW family, then all these hours on this site will hopefully have been worth something.

Why did you choose your avatar?
Is that a trick question?

Welcome LoveDoctor.
You've taken the first baby-steps to extracting yourself --- resigning as an elder, quitting spending all your valuable free time knocking on doors, starting reading and researching.
It seems as though your biggest obstacles to being true to yourself are marital (very common, as you see on this forum) and economic (less common).
My advice, for what it's worth, is to maintain the status quo for now --- love your wife, be kind to your mother-in-law, be a good friend to your friends --- but stop doing things that make you uncomfortable. You can't be disfellowshipped for saying "Going out in service/attending meetings makes me feel uncomfortable."
And keep exploring, good luck!!!

Sleaze Update...
by White Dove inemail exchange just a minute ago:.
him: "i just wanted to let you know that i never had any intention of causing any harm.
and i apologize for anything that seemed that way.".

I respect the request of two people to stop addressing White Dove because my words are perceived as bullying. However, I reserve the right to say "Drama Queen" whenever I see it in action.
But, FlyingHolyCow, who died and made you the moral arbitrator of this board?

How to make perfect iced tea... southern style.
by Elsewhere inrecently i've had a few people tell me that my iced tea that i serve at home is exceptionally good so i thought i'd share the secret:.
first i'll review the mistakes most people make:.
burn the tea by steeping it in water that is too hot.steep the tea for too long.

Optional:
For sweet tea: Add a slightly heaping 1/3 cup of sugar or calorie free sweener (the kind of sweetner that is, by volume, the same as sugar)
Add 1/4 cup of Peach Juice (This is more girly... but I like it )It makes more nutritional sense to add flavor and sweetness with a pure fruit juice, like peach, than to add heaploads of sugar. I'm also trying to understand why the tea should be diluted with so much water. Does any tea flavor remain?

What do Scientologist believe in? Are they atheists?
Interesting question. My uneducated view is that Scientologists believe in an alien invader higher power (Thetans) and that's where it stops.
