Born Ins vs Converts
by Red Piller infirst of all, let me say that i do think this excuse of a religion is on a downward spiral, which will only accelerate.. as a born in, i always read comments here about how dedicated and hard-line we are.
most of the born ins (who stayed) develop a casual attitude toward everything.
even if you believe it, hearing about armageddon, constantly, doesn't excite you as much when it's the 1,000th time you've heard it.

As a born-in myself I totally agree with you.
All borns hate getting saturday morning cartoons robbed from them, not having any holidays, any parties, and end up putting on a excellent double life.
I still do it, for years I've been on aposte forums, and one other born-in my hall used to hang out all the time, sleep over, play violent video games, and now he's out in college and realized the witnesses are a total lie.
The only problem I see for born-ins, if it s a problem at all is that we all go to athieism after we leave. We grow up pointing out the errors in all other false religions we have none to turn to. -

Does Jehovah Answer Prayers?
by Spade inpeople here have a fundamentally different opinion of what identifies a religion as true or false.
most people leave christendom's churches because their prayers go unanswered and there's no evidence that god intervenes in their personal lives.
something that's never discussed here.

I always think of it this way and all you others out there try to fine-tune this post because i'm kinda tired lol
1. God hears all.
2. If got hears all your prayers does he answer all prayers?
3. He only answers meaningful prayers.
-If you pray for "God will you help me in the lottery" - Will probably be a no.
-If you pray for "God can you help me with this months rent" - Probably be acceptable.
4. If got hears all prayers and answers few prayers he is infact hurting others meh
omg i don't know where i'm going with this.
Okay, but to get the the point, I'd like to think of it this way, if god helps you get a job, but doesn't help the person praying when their plane is crashing then he is infact responcible for that plane crash.-peace

True Peace and Security
-From what source?
Surely you, like most persons today, want peace and security. People everywhere are weary of ware, tension, and turmoil. They long for relief. Would you not rejoice to see this earth become a pleasant, secure home, for all its inhabitants? But how can true peace and security come about? Can man being peace and security through his political governments? Some think so, but you may have serious doubts. The world now experiences an uneasy peace, marred by fear. Poverty and hunger afflict large segments of the human family. Even the so-called "affluent" societies do not feel secure, due to crime, violence, drug addiction and pollution.
Can the religions of the world bring true peace and security? You probably have doubts about that too.In spite of this there is every reason to believe that true peace and security will become an earth-wide reality in our day. But from what source?
The 192-page book TRUE PEACE AND SECURITY - FROM WHAT SOURCE? provides the bible's answer to that question. It shows why human efforts have not met with success. IT then discusses what God has been doing to bring about peace and security. It points out when and how this will become a reality and discusses the changes that people must make in their lives now to benefit from what God is doing. Send for your copy today. only 25 cents.

@Honesty I don't think they Studies in the Scriptures is "that" apostate anymore.
The society wasn't afraid to mention it and show the winged sun disc in their latest dvd.
And I do happen to have the old green bible, it's still in the garage however and I'll probably dig it out tomorrow.
Another thing i forgot to mention is that I'm finding bits and pieces of rutherfords rainbow series.
Light 1, Light 2, Vindication, Children, Preperation, enemies.
Other books are The truth that leads to eternal life, and Paradise restored.
I'm kinda sloppy at searching but if anyone can find me any usefull bits from any of those books it'd be helpful!
And note to those that throw out old books, sure I'm with you 100% throw out those damn watchtower and awakes, but there are a few books you should keep just for these purposes. I tried showing people scans, pdfs, and they wont believe it and just say "You faked that, the society would never say that." It's a total different reaction when they have the actual book in their hand.
Thx in advance! -

I did some cleaning in my garage today and oh my god.I found Russel's Thy Kingdom Come.
Ray Franz's famous Aid to bible understanding.
and a little bill advertising a WTS Cable access tv SHOW!?
If anyone can tell me how to use any of this to an apostates advange please respond!
I know Thy kingdom come has so many damn pyrmids in there to scare the hell out of any dub, but I'm looking for really good striking quotes I could use. -

ONE book they printed shoots them down -which one do you think it is?
by hamsterbait inremember deut.18 "when the prophet speaks in the name of jehovah and the word does not come true, that is the word jehovah did not speak.".
also "the prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word i have not commanded.. must die.".
"the nations shall know that i am jehovah" book said quite plainly on p 236(?

Millions now living will never die - That's a good one, but I remember as of 2009 they changed the title of it. They now quote it as "Millions now living MAY never die" So keep your eyes out for that.
Most damning thing they wrote? Hmm. I'd have to go with The Proclaimers since most people have access to it and it mentions Beth Sarim, Christmas, and other goodies. -

Please reccommend older Watchtower publciations for stumbling purposes
by TheStumbler infirst time poster here but i've been lurking a while.. i have a question that i was hoping some of the watchtower historians might be able to answer.
if a witness was willing to read some of the organisation's older publications, what books would you get them to read and how do i get these books?.
my family are witnesses and my father is an elder.

Questions questions questions!
NEVER say the witnesses are wrong, about anything. They will go into instant defense mode.
You have to make themselfs question the organisation, and let them discover what is happening.
For starters, ask him what he thinks about the generation, or the rising amount in cup drinkers at the memorial.
The one statement that makes them think and open their minds is this. Just say "If I follow everything that the Bible students wrote under Russel, I'd be a apostate today" Make him realize that Russel's religion is a completely different religion from Rutherfords. -

If God truly loved humans...why not reveal himself ? So that they could make an informed decision ?
by smiddy inwe learn from the bible that god spoke to adam ,then certain faithful ones, then after moses only the preisthood that was established, and individuals, raised as prophets, and this by the way is only a a small select group on the planet.never mind about other groups of humans.
fastforward to the era of christ ,again, god is only dealing with a small select group to advise and admonish.during the time from moses to christ he was only dealing with what became one small nation.the rest of humankind were left to their own devices.fastforward down to this 21st century we have no guidance/instruction/prophets to instruct or guide us.
( i know this is where jw`s would say but we have been preaching & teaching you god`s truths since 1879 ) all i can say their, is take your head out of the sand and look at all the changes ,corrections adjustments,re-adjustments,reversals,and failed expectations of prophecy you have published over this last century )so as to my question why hasn`t the god of the universe revealed himself to all humans of every race on all continents instead of just a small select group, if he truly was interested in the human race.

I think we would loose the abilty of free will in a way. Imagine if Jehovah was our actual father. You'll tend to behavior better around your dad then around your school friends, so therefore putting a limit on your "bad" behavior.
So if we know for sure that god is watching us, you wont act as free as you normally do.
Make sense of that. :)
