  we used to have a nutcase of a friend in the jw's who was always saying 'off the wall' things.

  he was exasgerating interpretations, making idle threats that he would 'bump off' a jw if they do him wrong.

  nobody took him seriously, because he said these wacko things all the time and never did them.

  I find it painful now to think that for all those years, everytime I went in the ministry I mentioned 'this generation'.

  Do the GB have any twinges of remorse for feeding us this stuff?

  Thanks I appreciate that Sapphy and snowbird, you've explained that clearly.

  In 2008 when I originally read that magazine I got that they were talking about the generation being the early Christian anointed and the anointed who see the signs around 1914.

  Then, after reading the 2010 article, I went back and read the box in the 2008 article entitled "CAN WE CALCULATE THE LENGTH OF THIS GENERATION" and the mention there of overlapping lives threw me.

  LOL Just typing that has thrown me again. I will have to write out what you have said and pin it up somewhere, although I feel crazy trying to grasp something that is ridiculous in the first place.

  "We know that Jehovah’s purpose keeps moving

  forward toward its complete fulfillment.

  This article examines the holy spirit’s role—in

  under the article " the faithful steward and it's governing body " there were some very telling quotes which could indicate how the wt society is tightening the control of it's members - and trying to justify more partaking of the emblems at the memorial since the numbers partaking have gone up from about 8,000 to 10,000 since they no longer feel that the sealing of the anointed ended in 1935.. so first off, notice this quote indicating the importance of elevating the governing body over the rest of the anointed around the earth.

  paragraph 16 it states , " are all these anointed ones throughout the earth part of a global network that is somehow involved in revealing new spiritual truths ?

( Eccl. 7:8) If you detect even a hint of such a tendency in yourself, why not meditate prayerfully on the timely principles found in Acts chapter 15?"

  I HOPE YOU ARE ALL BUSY ‘meditating prayerfully’ LIKE CRAZY NOW.

  I did just as they said and on 1 Corinthians 8 & 10 and on Romans 7 and Galatians 5:18 "If you are being led by spirit, you are not under the law." And came up with completely the opposite conclusion, that I think that is plain enough that I am not under the Mosaic law, the apostles law, the GB’s law, or anyone else’s law. MY CONSCIENCE IS MY LAW.

  That paragraph was from the new book ‘Bearing Thorough Witness About God’s Kingdom.’ Chapter 13 ‘There had Occurred No Little Dissension’ based on Acts 15:1-12 par. 12

  Paragraph 9 said:

  "One valuable lesson we learn is that we need to trust God’s organisation. Consider: The brother’s in Antioch knew that the governing body was made up entirely of Christians of Jewish background. Yet they trusted that body to settle the question of circumcision in harmony with the Scriptures. Why? The congregation was confident that Jehovah would direct matters by means of his holy spirit and the Head of the Christian congregation, Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:18, 20; Eph. 1:2. 23) When serious issues arise today, let us imitate the fine example of the believers in Antioch by trusting God’s organization and its Governing Body of anointed Christians, who represent "the faithful and discreet slave." - Matt. 24:45.

  I notice the governing body of the early Christians didn’t get a capital G & B, but the Governing Body of today did!!!!

  On the move to real Kingdom truths!!

  my fellow brothers and sisters!.

  i feel compelled out of gratitude and love to write this little tale, not because i have lost my faith, but because i realize i am not alone, and as heb 10: 24, 25 states: and let us consider one another to incite to love and fine works, 25 not forsaking the gathering of ourselves together, as some have the custom, but encouraging one another, and all the more so as you behold the day drawing near.. i have never felt nor would i ever think that that scripture applied solely to meeting atendance.

  the form of true christian love displayed by many here on this board affirms my faith in jehovah and lets me know i am not alone!.

  Had trouble copying and pasting.

  I thought when I started reading the book ‘Keep Yourselves in God’s Love’ that this was going to be a really good book. The first two chapters ‘This is what the love of God means’ and ‘How can you maintain a good conscience’ were quite good’. Chapter 2 showing we need "God’s spirit to guide us" and that "the conscience is best used as an internal judge, not as a license to judge others".

  Then apart from a few good points, it went down hill. Recommending the exact opposite of what the first two chapters were about. Laying down laws on things that I feel should be conscience matters and discussing things publicly that should be a private matter. Even describing masturbation explicitly in the appendix. As for getting advice on this subject from elders!!!! I’ve seen young men go to the elders and not get over the stigma from it because of gossiping and mocking elders. My marriage partner and I have been saddened by these fine young men never receiving positions, and now in their 40's, even though they are no longer controlled by it, but the stigma remains. Ridiculous.

  From a psychology point of view doesn’t this sort of extreme condemnation from the governing body show that the person/s doing the condemning have a problem with this themselves or afraid that they will succumb to it? Either way their remarks show they are coming to these conclusions based on fear, not operating from love, and certainly not coming from Jehovah’s spirit. 1 John 4:18 "There is no fear in love" Galatians 5:18 "If you are being led by spirit you are not under law".

  I feel sympathy with the despair in Paul’s words in Galatians 3:2 & 3 "This alone I want to learn from you: Did you receive the spirit due to works of law or due to a hearing by faith? Are you so senseless ? After starting in spirit are you now being completed in flesh?"
