First Aid @ the D.C.s -- could direction from Society cause them a lawsuit?

i posted about something similar 3 years ago when i first joined.

even though my attendance hasn't been great the last year or so, i was asked to help my bro in law in first aid this year at the convention.

to make a long story short, the society has printed instructions for attendants to not cal 911 for an emergency.

i have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.

i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.

maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

heard that many jw's in birmingham are leaving organization....looking elsewhere for spiritual homes.

ohiocowboy has just posted this information on the two other threads dealing with the sudden collapse of the unthank cases.. i don't know steven unthank, but i just want to thank him from the bottom of my heart for having the courage against overwhelming odds to try and bring the watch tower society to justice over their deplorable neglect when it comes to protecting children from abuse and molestation.. steven is a man of justice and integrity who i deeply admire.

his actions will never be forgotten, and i only hope he can find it within himself to continue his work in whatever avenue may become available in the future.. they have won this battle, but they can never win the war.. .

Were there 200 JW's disfellowshipped in 1980 all at once - in Cleveland, Ohio?

i have some old notes from a 1981 circuit assembly.

brother frank bartell was the district overseer.

i am pretty sure its 1981 or 1982.. anyway, in his last talk he said that there was a terrible situation in cleveland ohio the previous year (1980).

I just saw this older post on www.christianwitnesses.com. I turned in the one elder that was a pedophile (severe). I spoke by phone with him at his committee meeting and was told to see if he could get some mental help. HE TOLD ON EVERYONE! Elders knew about him after a CO told them of a confession from the child. They did nothing because they were all engaged in sex even pioneeers were DF'd. BTW He was an avid video man for a major oil company. He had equipment that was awesome. The oil company paid him off and dismissed him as he was a pedophile in a school where they sponsored a spanish program. I know details of this event. I don't know if it was 200 but it was considerable. I have spoke of this on sixscreens once. It was kept hush hush.

Question about six screens teleconference ...

i was listening in off and on to the latest teleconference ... first time attending ... some very interesting stuff.. there were a couple of items that i caught that i would appreciate more information on if possible.. 1. information about a circuit overseer recently leaving, currently keeping quiet but possibly going public .... ?.

2. there was a woman talking about how she was a "loose end" for the watchtower, i believe having to do with the abuse issues, i believe she said something about the congregations being instructed to burn any evidence of abuse cases ... ?.

Studying my faith away

i'm a 28 year old active, married jw from belgium.

in the preceding months (i'd say starting from about march) i've been slowly losing my faith.

Take it from an old lady. FADE, FADE! YOU SET THE GROUND RULES. THEY GBLIKES TO DO THAT AND HUMILIATE YOU IN THE PROCESS. IF YOU FADE THEY DON'T HAVE A RESPONSE, AND YOU WIN. Think of your family, everyone is at a different place. Remember they are brainwashed and afraid of death. My sons accepted my not attending but said they wish they could have me with them in the new world. They begged me to think about them when I decided to leave. I did. So I faded over a 2 year period. No one has come after me, because in August, 2009 I just never returned for the new service year. They aren't sure if I am gone yet. I talk to ones when I see them. They don't know what to do because I am not DF'd. My 3 sons, their wives and the grandchildren are glad they don't have a DF'd grandmother. Did I mention I have 232 relatives who are still witnesses. Since my fade they are still talking to me and no one talks about my leaving after over 60 years. They know why however. I now belong to the Bible Students.www.friendsofjehovahwitnesses.com. I was raised one until 12 years of age. They are not perfect but not controlling and you have freedom to think and disagree. I wish you the best.

the largest schism in watchtower history involved the bible students in the 20's and 30's.

it was not so much that bible students "opposed" the work of the society, the issue was the bible students and the society were no longer in harmony doctrinally, the 3,000 or so who "dropped" out by 1918, eventually grew in the coming years, by 1930 seventy-five percent of the original bible students had abandoned the society.

the bible students or "the evil slave" as the jehovah's witnesses refer to them as, are now coming back to haunt the org.

To linp24. Our history is the same. My memories as a child of the BS meetings were pleasurable. At 12 my mother went over to JW and the next 50 years I was one. Now I have found the BS again and associate with them. They will be hosting a call in and interenet soon. They don't have a governing body. They depend on Holy Spirit to hold them together.
