Bob has to be anointed (thus baptized) as a Jehovah's Witness on or before 1914 to count as part of the overlapping generation.
i thought this would be easier to examine if written down:.
god's kingdom will soon come.
so we know that god's kingdom will soon come.. .

RayPublisher, thank you very much for uploading the source.
maninthemiddle, thanks for encoding and uploading the 1st part. Any plans to encode and upload the 2nd part of the video? (There were two video files in the source)
seriously!
i've been planning on going to this foreign langauge district convention for over a year and because some genius in new york planned it on july 4th weekend all the hotel prices have been jacked up making it impossible for me to attend.
f**k!!!!!
The JWs here do the exact same thing. EVERY freaking Thanksgiving weekend -- like clockwork -- they have a Circuit Assembly. It ruins the entire holiday for working JWs.
I always liked it when conventions came on a stat holiday because you didn't have to ask for time off work and explain why you were asking for time off. Yes, I had the fear of man thing going on.
with the advances in digital communication, when will society move to paperless?.
nooks/kindles are making books obsolete.
computer/internet is making newsprint obsolete.
I love digital readers. I don't know how else I'd manage to smuggle "In Search of Christain Freedom" (really big!) and "Crisis of Conscience" without getting caught!
I have to wonder though if going "paperless" is really better for the environment. The heavy metals, plastics and other nasty things from electronic devices (both the devices themselves and the chemicals used in manufacture) end up in landfills and leaking out into the environment (or to some 3rd world country for some rather nasty "recycling").
I think too that the decline of the post office and newspapers are inevitable. But once you stop makeing newspapers, what are you supposed to do with all the recycled paper?

Talk to the secretary in your hall, let them know you're coming back and interested in attending the convention. They *might* let you see the recommended lodging list which has hotel discounts.
If you're doing this just to learn a language, there are more effective ways to aquire a language (classes, podcasts).
PS. when I first saw your title I thought it meant you had drank so much alcohol that you couldn't make it to the convention
jgnat's thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/210513/1/how-many-gods-are-there, made me realize something:.
here's the definition of 'god' straight from the insight book:.
*** it-1 p. 968 god ***.
@godrulz, Yes, accepting the trinity would make this a moot point.
@Chariklo, good point. Jesus was objecting to Satan's invitation for Jesus to worship Satan. Instead Jesus quoted the scripture as a statement that he would only Worship God and serve him only. There is no implication here that Jesus was NOT to be worshipped.
children blood everlasting life .
today i uploaded a new article to my blog.
watchtower has a lawyer by the name of donald ridley who took time to correct a secular writer for a bit of misleading information about jehovahs witnesses.
Martin,
I think the lawyer is technically correct. He is discussing the situation where the parents object but the medical community still give a blood transfusion. In this case they are not to feel it is their fault. This is similar to the Watchtower's policy that if you scream when you are raped, then it is not your fault. I use that parallel because the Watchtower has suggested comparing a court-ordered blood transfusion to rape when testifying in court. This was emphasized in the S-55-E outline at the 2010/2011 Kingdom Ministry School.
The quotes from the Watchtower are talking about the situation where parents accept or give permission for a blood transfusion; in that case JWs do teach that they and/or their minor child would lose out on everlasting life if they are unrepentant.
The current game played is this: Parents object to the blood transfusion until the court order is given, then the life of the child is saved and they don't have to feel guilty. However, this only seems to be a relatively recent development. One of my childhood friend's parents felt it necessary to steal away his younger brother from the hospital to prevent the younger brother getting a blood transfusion. I'm not sure the exact cause of death, but the child ended up dying.
That being said, I am really enjoying your blog. It is starting to become one of the best resources on the web for blood (and other) JW issues.

The latest printed information of this is interesting:
*** g 2/06 p. 29 Is There Only One True God? ***
For example, some Bible verses allude to Jesus Christ as a god. (Isaiah 9:6, 7; John 1:1, 18) Does this mean that Jesus is to be worshipped? Jesus himself said: “It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and it is to him alone you must render sacred service.” (Luke 4:8) Clearly, although Jesus is mighty in power and divine in nature, the Bible does not portray him as an object of worship.
The article mentions that the Bible "alludes" to Jesus as a god. That's kind of interesting because I thought the Wording in John 1 couldn't be any more clear.
Luke 4:8 though, seems like a valid objection against worshipping Jesus. Any thoughts on this?jgnat's thread, http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/210513/1/how-many-gods-are-there, made me realize something:.

*** it-1 p. 968 God ***
Anything that is worshiped can be termed a god, inasmuch as the worshiper attributes to it might greater than his own and venerates it.
Now JWs agree that Jesus is a god, just not the almighty God. There's no question that the Bible calls Jesus [a] god (whether or not you have the [a] there is irrelevant to this discussion). That's fine. So what is the justification for calling Jesus a God, but not worshipping him, if the very definition of a god is "anything that can be worshiped"? Even Satan is spoken of as being worshipped since he is God of this system of things: *** g 2/06 p. 29 Is There Only One True God? *** The apostle Paul described the Devil as “the god of this system of things.” (2 Corinthians 4:4) As “the ruler of this world,” the Devil has promoted countless false gods. (John 12:31) Hence, all worship addressed to man-made gods is, in effect, worship rendered to Satan. But Satan is not a god who merits our worship. He is a self-appointed ruler, a usurper. In time, he himself, as well as all forms of false worship, will be eliminated. When that happens, all humanity—yes, all creation—will forever acknowledge Jehovah as the only true and living God There's more good information on how JW views of worshipping Jesus have changed over the years here: http://www.jwfacts.com/watchtower/worship-jesus.php
