Shouldn't they be in charge of the WTS? Shouldn't they be the ones translating, guiding and ruling the governing body?

Aren't they in communications with Jesus since 1914?

That is a great point. So many translations from people and groups who say they know better and they know the truth about the bible.

Isn't it common sense to go to the people who gave the world the bible for proper teaching of what it actually means?

40,000 Christian groups. 39,999 started by men or women.

1 started by Jesus...

hmm, which one would be the closest to the real truth?

take the 5 word phrase.

"i didn't eat your sandwich".

It's worth mentioning that the bible was written after Jesus started his church. He instructed the apostles to teach all that he had commanded them to. He never said to write it down. He never wrote anything down [that we know of anyway]. the bible was put together by the Catholic church by those who knew how to write, but the church was grown through the spoken word and the bible came after as an account of the church.

Any one remember Rodney Dangerfield's movie 'Back to School'?

There was a scene when Rodney's character is confronted by his love interest/professor who states that Kurt Vonnegut had no idea about Kurt Vonnegut.

Remember, Kurt V was tutoring Rodney on his books and she [the professor] said, who ever did this report knows nothing about Kurt V.

That's what it seems like when listening to JW speak about the bible or reading a WTS publication about biblical prophesy. Seems like stuff is just made up on the spot

A better example is one my college Spanish professor gave to my class -

My professor was at a restaurant with a student whose first language is Spanish, but was learning English. The student asked the waiter for a chicken sandwich. The waiter replied, "I'm sorry. We have run out of chicken."

The student envisioned a giant in the kitchen with the kitchen staff running out from inside the chicken

Seems like a typical WTS translation

I wanted to relay an example that I heard about translating difficulties. Take the 5 word phrase

"I didn't eat your sandwich"

Seems easy enough, but what if you emphasize different words, doesn't that change the translation?

How about emphasizing the "I"?

"I didn't eat your sandwich" may indicate that I did not, but someone else may have.

"I didn't EAT your sandwich" may indicate that I didn't eat it, but I did something else to it.

"I didn't eat YOUR sandwich" may indicate that I didn't eat your sandwich, but I may have eaten someone elses.

'i didn't eat your SANDWICH'' may indicate that I didn't eat your sandwich, but I may have eaten something else of yours.

Now, what would be easier to mess translation up? These 5 simple words or the bible?

JW`s Lie about Christendom hiding the Name Jehovah.or its equivalent Yahweh

jehovahs witnesses have been outspoken over the years/decades that christendom have been hiding or obscuring or even eliminating gods name jehovah from the general public.. how true is that statement .?.

1. it was a catholic monk of the 13th century that first coined the name jehovah in the english language.. 2.the roman catholic douay version of the bible does have the name jehovah in it.

Earnest- There are numerous complete writings of many of the church fathers. Every one of them stated that Jesus was God in the flesh...

When JWs Pray for Houston

when i hear prayers given by brothers why do they only pray for other jws not all people??

i remember hearing a comment from my mother saying 4000 jws are affected by this...and i'm thinking yes that is sad but what about the tens of thousands other people affected?

too me it just doesn't seem right to just pray for jws but to pray for all victims.
