I have so much spiritual gas from that spolied so called spiritual food over the years...what should I take?
by Joliette ini need to get rid of it.. when i was a kid, the brothers would always get on stage and talk about what an abudant buffet of spiritual food from jehovah's table we will receive.
when i was a kid i use to take everything so literally, so i would imagine a buffet of ham, chicken, macncheese (the most creamy mac n cheese, candy yams, turkey, corn bread).
i used to wish that the brother would finish with the prayer so we could get to old county buffet, so i could get to the literal food.. .

Jolietta, I wish you the best in your digestive passings Nothing like good ol research into the facts. Although, sometimes bitter, it's good for the rational part of your mind that has been 'trained' to avoid truthful things..... [that's a mild reference to the 'Lying for the Truth' mentality]. God bless.

Changing doctrines versus Core doctrines
by Mad Sweeney inis there any wt doctrine you think is not subject to change ever?
any doctrines you feel may change some day but no way in the next several decades?.
i was just thinking about those of us younger than 50. if we live to a healthy ripe old age, just how different will the jws be then from what they are today?

Looking back through the JW history, the only doctrine that hasn't been subject to change is the doctrine that the end is at hand and if you wanna be saved, you gotta be with us.

Were There Any JW Doctrines Or Beliefs That You Found Confusing?
by minimus inmost witnesses never could explain exactly who the "faithful slave" was (according to the society's explanation).
the resurection of the sodomites was another bewildering thing.
were they or weren't they going to be resurrected?

One doctrine that I can't believe is still promoted is 'Lying for the Truth'.
God says over and over and over again that he hates liars. How could anyone buy into that truck load of bs?

ps- Satan in aka 'the Father of lies'

The belief that the bible is the Word of God, but that God was wrong on so much of their beliefs...I'll be brief
Jesus is one of the created angels, Jesus never rose [bodily] from the grave, Jesus is not worthy of prayer, Jesus never claimed that he was God.
These simple few views contradict the New Testament. They are significant differences to say the least.

Way to go Psac! What would you do with your degree? Perhaps work at a museum, go on digs in Egypt [not any time soon I hope], or maybe become a preacher. You could start your own cult or something. lol

A degree in 'Fairyology'?
Friends of mine at the Harvard School of Divinity would disagree. Besides heavy doses of the obvious [such as history, languages and archeology], they also study and get access to incredible research facilities. Last time we spoke, they were studying possibilities concerning how certain bodies [of 'saints'] did not corrupt over time. Some speculated that perhaps the amount of fasting, or eating of certain types of herbs had contributed to the preservation of some of these bodies. Although this is a 'school of divinity', the research that they do make it clear that they are skeptics when researching causes that seem to defy logic.

Aguest replied [about Matt 28: 19 & 20]
That is an inaccurate transliteration designed to support the false teaching of the Trinity,
I looked up on Biblos.com [the online parallel bible] a comparison of 17 different translations. The only difference in those translations is the change of the Holy Ghost to the Holy Spirit.
Are you aware of any evidence that suggests those scriptures had been tampered with?
