We've heard reports of brothers and sisters selling their homes so that they can put all of their efforts to field service.
This is a fine way to spend these final days...
I remember reading something like that..lying for the truth...
i don't know if i have shared this with everyone, but there seems to be a new theocratic term, at least in my circuit.. the term is "final push.
" wtf does it mean?
well, an eldub said that the gb are "all in" with warwick and they might spend all their money on the project.

a recent wacktower had hinted that the year 2034 would be the final date for armaggedon.
if armageddon has not arrived by 2035 then will the wts close shop for good or will they simply accuse the past presidents of apostacy and regroup to form another daughter of the tower offshoot baseless religion?.
.
i am sort of new here, used a different username for a while but things got 'difficult' at home so i've since been lurking.... what i would be really interested to know, if you don't mind sharing, is what it was that triggered your doubts and initial research which led to awakening, was it a bad experience, injustice, changed doctrine?
for me, it was seeing mistreatment of young ones in the congregation, they're under so much pressure and as soon as they go even slightly astray they are shunned, either informally (as bad associations which pushes them further into the 'world') or formally - with elders dying to throw the book at them so they even lose their family.... ...then reading about child abuse issues in the press.... ...which led me to silentlambs.
...then jw facts, this forum and coc, wham!
Tornintwo Where else would I go?
Hate this cult. So much work to dismantle other faiths with their LIES.
Where else would you go?
Answer- Anywhere but here.
i am not a regular visitor to this site, every now and then then i get twisted up about something i come back lol.
i am sure this has been discussed many times so a link to another thread would be great or if someone has the patience to explain again please?
i have read the july 15 2013 wt many times but i simply don't understand the significance of 1919 from the bible.
So many significant dates that the watchtower has promoted in the past. Why pick 1919?
why not 1873, 1911, 1914, 1925, 1932, 1975 or any of the others?
just wondering
something i have noticed over the years is how much harder it is to research the history of the watchtower society from its own literature.
people have thrown away old publications in place of the watchtower library.
i beleive soon the watchtower library disk will be discontinued in place of the online library.
jesus was a jew who apparently thought he was the messiah, however, after dying, his disciples began to propagate the lie that he would return from heaven during his generation.
but, his generation passed away, and it was clear that it was a false prophecy, then a dishonest christian wrote the second letter of peter so as to condemn those who realised that the prophecy was a fiasco.
interestingly, and sadly, this religion survived,....why????
Jesus said that his church would last for all ages. 2000 years later and %20 of the planet still believes that a man, claiming to be God, is the truth, the way, the life.
go figure out why if you can
to jw's if you think about it, this is what "the truth" is..... .
"the truth" is that you must be in 'the truth' and spend every waking moment you have getting others in 'the truth'.
anything the governing body says to do is 'the truth'.
Some people think the truth is subjective. You know, that there are many truths to many people.
JWs say that they have the truth or that the WTS is the truth....
But Jesus said that he IS the TRUTH , the Way, the Life
as of this june (i've already given my may contributions which are substantial) i am no longer giving money to support useless building projects that serve no good purpose.
i am no longer giving money at conventions or assemblies.
i am no longer giving money toward the circuit overseers upkeep.
Hold me Thrill me said "I will, though, continue giving money to those in the congregation who are in need. To widows who are in financial difficulty, to brothers and sisters who have lost their job or who can only find part time work."
Welcome to Christianity!
i realize many people on here are very angry at the watchtower society and/or governing body for various reasons, many of which are likely justified, at least to some extent.
i also can totally understand the cynicism and pessimism i see from certain ones regarding the leaders of the society.. i think one thing that's often forgotten or overlooked, however, is the fact that members of the governing body who've been "in the truth" for 30, 40, 50, 60 years, probably truly believe in this organization.
in my opinion, it's more likely that they believe what they teach instead of being liars who are intentionally deceiving everyone.
IMHO the org lies on purpose.
Too many lies to be chalked up to ignorance.
LIE LIES LYING and then have to gall to say 'The Truth'
F&%#ing liars!
