Cecil the Lion deserved what he got...That's right. I said it.
by cappytan inlions are notorious murderers of beautiful zebras, antelope and other graceful exotic animals.
cecil probably contributed to the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of animals.
what happened to him was justice.. you reap what you sow.

Personally, I prefer a moose head on a wall opposed to a necklace of human ears.....
"Did you hate that moose?"
anyone?...Bueller?...

Basic Bible and Religious Vocabulary the Watchtower Never Teaches
by CalebInFloroda inwhen i began formal study of religion and biblical analysis it was like peeling off layer after layer of dark matter, sticky and putrid that had stuck over my eyes and ears and mouth.
i learned that under the watchtower one only builds a widening gap between yourself and the world of biblical academia and scholars.
i used to think i knew a lot because i learned to quote a few scholars or lexicons as a witness.

For my brief 2 cents.
A translation [of anything written] is the responsibility of the translator to translate the writing into whatever language he or she is translating to.
A version [of anything written] is when the translator actually changes the translation to reflect a particular attitude that the translator wants to get across.
Informative thread...

Two fingers up because they are so holy
by oppostate inthe two-finger-i'm-so-holy hand gesture is an old mannerism of catholic and orthodox hierarchs.
it's all over their catholic paintings and scultures, and greek orthodox icons of, jesus too.
................................... here then, the holy gesture is adapted for use even by our very own gb members who are trying to appear most holy themselves.. .

In nutshell, Jesus is the word of God.
God's word is so awesome that it is a projection of himself. His words are alive and are life.
When Jesus 'put on the flesh' [or became man], the fullness of God was content to dwell within him.
Sorry, no scriptural reference points for my nutshell

No education. Not just to avoid critical thinking
by StarTrekAngel ini was listening to my brother in law talk about his job this week.
he had a stable job for a long time.
it was not without problems but it was there.

Many times people curse a lot because of a limited vocabulary. More education [from an accredited source say even BYU] would certainly help ones dialect to improve exponentially.

I agree with Cofty, sure the world can be awful and hateful and it can be intimidating, but also beautiful and wondrous. There are those who love God with all their heart and love their neighbor as themselves....and there are those who do not. It has always been that way.
Let your God given intelligence with sound reasoning guide your decisions on where to turn.
Also, it is good that JW.org is out there. People will be seeing JWfacts and other JW websites that are doing research.

On the Relevancy of The Institutionalization of Sin

Morality is an interesting thing. There were certainly moral people throughout history, but there was no standard of morality until the church established it.
The same is true of civil/human rights. Of education, of healthcare,of caring of the old, the poor, the feable, the handicap, etc. There were always some people who did these things, but there was no standard until the Church [the Catholic church} established it.just saying it cause it's true
