It's a hole in the WT's 'we're the only true christians since the 1st century' doctrine.
Hahaha, It's one of many, many, many holes in the doctrine of JWdom
Pull any string of JW doctrine and it unravels to emptiness
put together the bible canon, came up with the name jehovah.
spread the basic christian message across the globe.
got rid of all the false gods of the roman empire and gods of other nations as well.
It's a hole in the WT's 'we're the only true christians since the 1st century' doctrine.

for those that still care to read the bible of course.
those that don't, please keep the snarky comments to yourselves :-).
i am assuming nwt is not very popular?.
The best translation to me is the translation that best conveys the thoughts of the writer. All too often, we seek the translation that best suites OUR preconceived ideas as opposed to the writers ideas.
For many years [and still today?] the WTS has told their members that the NWT is the most accurate. I find it most interesting that no scholarly organization even mentions the NWT when listing legit biblical translations. If it were the most accurate, it would be known by all, but it is not accurate at all. It has been changed to suit the preconceived ideas of the WTS. What a fuc&^%$ shame. Shame on the WTS!
who are looking after the aged and infirm jehovah`s witnesses ,?
its certainly not the organization known as the wtb&ts ./jehovahs witnesses religion .. and why is that ?
satans system of things with jehovahs blessing , has programs to look after those who have such needs , such as the dole for unemployed ,medical assistance for those who cant afford it ,and their are many charitable institutions that look after those that fall in the cracks.
No charity what so ever from the WTS. You only need your watchtower and awake mags and wait on Jehovah.
Things not working out? You failed the faith test! That is faith in Gods only channel to spiritual food given by a group of men who belong to a faith less than 150 years old.
No time for giving food, shelter, money or time to any other causes. Those things are for Satans princely kingdom
why is it that i understand the bible more clearly today then all my years in the organization (jw)???
?many religious people believe the average person cannot understand the bible..maybe the reasons (1) they may have tried to study the bible and found it difficult, so they gave up.
(2) maybe they believe truth is subjective;so whatever you believe, that is truth for you.
Why would anyone want to learn about the bible from an organization less than 150 years old? How would they know what the bible teaches?
You would want to go to the folks who gave the bible. The folks who compiled it, protected it through the many centuries. The bible came after the apostles spread the word verbally. It's a collection of books that came after the church was already established...just saying
the last time i spoke to my mother, who is a devout jw, she threatened me with typical jw scare tactics telling me how oh so close the end is and how me and my 2 young daughters will be slaughtered by god himself in armageddon.
knowing that this is just a scare tactic, i respectfully listened, then replied that the jw's have wrongfully predicted the end of the world three times and were incorrect, 1914, 1925, 1975. i asked doesn't that make them false prophets?
her response; " no, because the brothers are imperfect and jehovah knew their heart was in a sincere place.
If you think that you are never going to die, then you are a good JW and you will believe anything..
Logic, reason and common sense had obviously been left behind long ago.
When JWs come to my door now, I ask 'why would I seek biblical knowledge from an organization that has been around less than 150 years?'
i sometimes did work for a lovely old couple who at times needed repairs done around their home.
my wife and myself spent time with them, having tea and crackers from time to time.
one day the husband and myself got into a conversation and he clearly showed himself to be a holocaust denier.
I remember seeing an interview with the president of Iran. Forget his name, but it was the guy who looked like a bad used car salesman, but he was also Harvard U educated.
He was a holocaust denier and had an interesting comment I thought. I forget the exact quote, but it went something like this
" I don't believe there was a holocaust, but if there were, why not take Germany for Israel instead of Palestine?"
I had to chuckle when I heard that
Germany as Israel?LOL
as you know (and are probably tired of hearing me repeat), i’m jewish.
yes, i was a jehovah’s witness when i was a teenager and into my 20s, but returned to my roots and now celebrate chanukah when the holiday season comes around each year.. so why am i writing about christmas?
well, that’s because i thought i would share something about how jehovah’s witnesses teach against christmas.
good points and clearly explained,
well done Dave
aren't there christian denominations who do not make false end of the world predictions but who nevertheless believe that the world will eventually end and paradise (whether in heaven or on earth) will come?.
it seems the watchtower was just jumping the gun when they made false end of the world predictions but they are nevertheless the right: the world will eventually end and paradise will come..
The end of the world is certainly coming, just as it has for every thing that has ever lived on this planet.
Everything that lives here will die. That IS the end of the world for anything living.
Paradise?
Well, that depends on your way of life. If you live a life that should be rewarded because of the way you live or your faith.
You, me and Dupree will find out when the end of the world comes to us.
I'm over 50 year old, I imagine the world will certainly end [for me] within 6 decades.....oh oh, better get to the cart for WTS literature.
“the bbc is right to recognise that the libel that catholics said and did nothing against nazism is precisely that, a collective libel.
i am grateful to them for doing so.”--lord alton of liverpool.. so reported the catholic herald (uk) on friday, 9th of december 2016 after the bbc admitted it greatly underestimated the catholic church's opposition to hitler during the shoah.. the bbc’s internal watchdog has found that a programme wrongly accused the catholic church of “silence” about the holocaust.. after pope francis’s visit to auschwitz in july, bbc one’s 6pm news bulletin carried a report which stated: “silence was the response of the catholic church when nazi germany demonised jewish people and then attempted to eradicate jews from europe.”.
in response, the cross-bench peer lord alton of liverpool and fr leo chamberlain, the former headmaster of ampleforth, made an official complaint.. nearly six months later, the bbc’s editorial complaints unit has now concluded that the item was unfair.
Onager
If you are reading about the spanish inquisition, then you may be aware of 2 facts.
1st- Less than 2000 people died
AND, it was not a teaching or promotion of the catholic church. It was some [certainly misguided] people in the church.
That said, I totally agree that certainly there are lots of victims from catholics, but not from the catholic teachings

Thank you for these news clips. I had researched some of the claims made by my elder brother about how the church 'secretly' wanted the holocaust against the Jews. Imagine that people actually believed that? The church which has promoted humans rights to ALL people since it's beginning was wanting the assault against the Jews?
Not likely and history has proven those claims to be false.
The Watchtower, in contrast, had initially supported Adolf Hitler and the Nazis. Then in true watchtower fashion, promoted their revisionist history showing themselves on the correct side.
The Watchtower has never been on the correct side of anything imo
