hi, peeplezs,.

down over the years i have experienced plenty of discouragement and cynicism about faith and the existence of a god who cares for us.

if i allowed myself to dwell on those things alone, i suppose that i too would be feeling hopeless and cynical and would be just waiting until my time is up.. however, i don't feel that way at all.

I so Loved reading LoneWolf's words. The sweet sentiment is evident even 50 years later. My parents met when they were teenagers, my dad the local thug and my mom the goody two shoes church goer. They married when my mom was very young, about 5 years difference between them (and No, I'm not going to give their ages at the time). Just celebrated their 60 year anniversary.

Meangirl, that's just some 'man's' definition of the word crush. Get over it lady. You've hijacked what was a really great story about 2 people who are still it seems, very much in love.

Actually, one of those songs popped into my head this morning, the one from the 23rd Psalm about jehovah being my shepherd. Anyway, I believe the song originally said 'my head with oil he anointed'. Then it got changed to 'my head with oil he refreshes'. It made me think that right there the writers are creating a not so subtle distinction between those of the 'anointed' and the 'great crowd'; one group gets anointed, the other just gets refreshed.

do you find that years after leaving the jws birthdays just don't matter?.

i just can't get into it.

in years past the inlaws have made an effort and given a little party but now we are out country its just not a big enough deal to be bothered with.. no presents, no cake.

In one of his fireside chats, President Roosevelt alluded to the conservatives in his day that said if social security and other programs were allowed to come into existence (or not discontinued, I forget which) they would leave the country. He said to them 'bye, we'll miss you'.
