this is my big chance to get out of the jw mindset, if i could place in hands a pack of tarot cards!
anybody else the freaky about them!.
star tiger.
I have 2 sets, one showing Native American imagery and the other Egyptian. I've given my daughter a couple of sets and her favorite is called the Celestial tarot.
They're fun and very helpful in meditation. I once gave myself a reading with all of the cards. THAT was insightful.

since nearly being consumed by witness mentality as an almost baptised member but thankfully due to my fantastic wifes scepticism toward it, i have now embarked on a voracious capacity for reading all the books that were once excluded from my list to get a total rounded out experience of life from the communist manifesto to atlas shrugged, wealth of nations, the age of reason, robert anton wilson, the koran and dare i say it mein kamf, the vedas, but i am still a bit frightened of the golden bough due to the residue of the jw's.
all knowledge must be good, i've read the bible and but it seem a bit meh!, all books have some interesting points, except the nazi one but it's good to read anything you can!.
anybody else obssesed with reading!!.
I am never without a book. I read 2 - 3 at a time and will read up to 200 pages a day, especially if it's particularly riveting. Novels, short stories, history, self-help, meditation . . . whatever strikes my fancy.
Reading is fun and knowledge is power.

Does anybody remember how the society used to tell us that 'singleness is a blessing'? Whatacrock.
Adiva
well.. i've been here for a few weeks but still feel like a relative newbie.
i just wanted to introduce myself as much as i'm able to.
i'm still 'in' so to speak although mentally 'out'.
Welcome to the forum.
How wonderful that you are not getting flack from your husband. That in itself, is a blessing.

as you may remember (if you were here to remember it), i stopped posting on this forum quite a while ago.
and let me tell you, what a great decision that was!
it has been great to move on from all this jw nonsense.
You may want to think about contacting Silent Lambs about their needs. When they are presenting evidence in court, it helps if they can show the actual publication rather than a copy.

this is actually not a former witness or anything, this is a cracked style article.
i think it's pretty funny, i think it's evidence that the wt is not going to be around forever.
Love the African woman texting with fruit on her head.

okay, so i am new to the site, but i have been following ur threads for awhile now, and i am finding great comfort in them!
no, i am not a witness and i have never been, and never will be!
i did however, date a witness for about three years.. it was our typical 357th biweekly 'man hating' girls night out, and meeting mr. right was the last thing on my mind!
Hi Madge.
I would want to know how he spends his time with her. Is he taking her around other jw family members? They will surely try to 'teach her the truth' even though he has said he won't. They will tell her birthdays and other holidays are bad and that her mommy will die at armageddon. They will scare the living daylights out of her.
Be very careful.

thw wts likes to play games with their statistics.
one interesting but truly tragic is the number of jwhovah's witnesses who commit suicie.. now i suspect that if a person commits suicide shortly before or after they are disfellowshipped then the elders would say that person wasn't a witness or that they had done something so terrible that they were too guilty to admit it and by their action of committing suicide they pretty much declared they were no longer a jw.. yup fancy talk to make sure any crap didn't fall on them.. so my question.. do you know of cases like this?
if so then can you answer a few more questions.. had this person been dfed or in real danger of being dfed or whatever the equivalent is if they were never baptized?.
I tried 3 times. My dad told my psychiatrist (over the phone) that my problem was a spiritual one. In a sense he was right, my spirit was dying.
Years later I was with a group of exjw's and the subject came up. The question came up, who has tried? Everybody raised their hand.
It's nice to know none of us succeeded because, we are awesome folks.
