I want to understand how all this works....Jesus gave his life so that we could be forgiven our sins. But the wages of sin is death...soooo does that me that if we are forgiven our sins we never die? If we die, does that mean we aren't forgiven of our sins?

TLK, Feel free to post your comments here:
by eclipse inok, so you can stop hijacking a beautiful thread on love, post your judgements here for everyone to read:here is one:adam & eve chose to sin and go against god's command-all they had to do was not eat from the fruit of two trees but they couldn't manage that.
similarly, we have all chosen to sin as well.
no-one holds a gun at our heads.. first of all, you are incorrect.

How ethical is it to sow DOUBT in the minds of sincere Jehovah's Witnesses?
by nicolaou inwe know that we can't always take the direct approach and we know that even a short, reasonable discussion is often out of the question with jw's we may love dearly so we often try to place a little doubt in their minds.
we want them to start questioning cherished beliefs.. is this fair of us?
are we placing our our own agendas ahead of their needs?

Can you really sow doubt in the mind of a SINCERE Jehovah's Witness? If they are sincere, they won't pay attention. BUT if they are already beginning to question, then the seed is already beginning to germinate, to sprout and grow. It seems there are a lot of people questioning. We don't have to worry about those that aren't yet. I think the question should be would it be ethical not to provide comfort to those who are torturing themselves because they are questioning. They are beginning to grow a brain, to think for themselves...That is a very scary thing when it starts happening. Those of us who have been there, can help those going down the road we've already traveled. IMHO it seems to me it would be unethical to not help these ones. The sincere JWs will take care of themselves, let's focus on those that want and need the help.... Shirlgirl

Is the Bible Really the inspired word of God?
by Shirlgirl ini ask this question simply to see what others think....... when my daugther was 16, she came to me late one night after we had come from a meeting and asked me...."mom, what if the witnesses have it all wrong?
there are only 66 books that we use, what if we are worshipping the wrong idea?
" she then walked out of the room and went to bed...... god, did that open a can of worms.....because i actually started thinking on that.. however, i took it a step further....what if religion on whole had it all wrong....so i began to do research, and what i found was amazing to me..... 2timothy 3:16 began to 'ring' in my mind....."all scripture is inspired of god...." funny, didn't say just 66 books were inspired, but all scripture....then i began to break it down....what was scripture?

I have formed the opinion that religion is man trying to define God, spirituality is God defining himself......two completely different things!
IMHO the bible is simply a road map....Like the ancients that used to sit around the campfires, who would tell and embellish stories to teach the young, mystify the middleaged, and console the elderly. It seems to be a record, a textbook of history that man has taken the notion to worship.
What really struck me were the inconsistencies.....example....1John 4:8 states that 'God is love'. Not that he shows it, or that he has it, but that he IS love....then in 1 Cor.13:4 through the first sentence of verse 8, states what love is and what it's not....So to me it seems that God would be the sum total of the description of love in 1Cor.....So then I started asking, how could God be jealous? How could he be a wrathful God? If those things are what love is not....?
The 'Church' has taken this one book and beat, maimed, even killed for the 'righteous standards' that are supposedly set in it....Standards that were set by whom? Interesting that only the Pope can 'amend' the quote/unquote 'word of God'...Even Christ didn't try that one.....But then who really was Christ?
Is the Bible the word of God? I think men have forced humanity to believe that...If it isn't, then what's it's purpose?

God, did that open a can of worms.....Because I actually started thinking on that.
However, I took it a step further....What if religion on whole had it all wrong....so I began to do research, and what I found was amazing to me....
2Timothy 3:16 began to 'ring' in my mind....."ALL scripture is inspired of God...." Funny, didn't say just 66 books were inspired, but ALL scripture....Then I began to break it down....what was scripture? Did only Christians have scripture? I think you can see where this led......
So I was just curious if others have done the leg work too.....What did you find?
Do you think the Bible is really the 'inspired word of God'?

Amazing what happens to you when those old tapes start playing.....
Has anyone ever really read the Song of Solomn 4th chapter and the last sentence of verse 16 ....know what those CHOICEST FRUITS are he was suppose to eat??????? We ain't talkin about mangoes....
I didn't learn about the wonderful world of oral sex until I was 44....(I'm 46 now was raised a Jdub)I didn't date until I was 22 and the first guy I dated I married.....Sheesh! Needless to say that the marriage was over after 15 years.... It's just recently that I started dating I love having the freedom to explore...
When I walked away from the Jdubs I was angry....hurt, and I felt so betrayed....not by them but by me! I allowed it. The mind control...the freedoms....I gave it all away. So I took it back!
You have nothing to feel guilty about....Oral sex to me seems the true way that two people truly give pleasure to one another...my first time I thought I was going to jump clear out of my skin it felt so good! And it was a turn on for my partner, hearing my responses.....then me giving to him and hearing his responses was a turn on for me.....
So don't ruin it with mind games that you can play on yourself....Relax.....release.....and enjoy!

Were any divorced over oral sex?
by gumby inlet me explain:.
in times past, the society's policy was that a witness mate could divorce their mate who demanded or had them perform oral sex and persisted with their views.. later the policy was revised to mean a witness mate could divorce their mate who had oral sex with someone.....outside of the marriage.. are there any here who had this experience with the old arrangement, or do you know of any cases in which this happened?.
my reason for asking is, i wonder how many lives were ruined by another wt blunder.

You know....
I was a witness for 43 years and just learned the joys of oral sex...and no I'm not married. Also, no I don't do it for, or get it from just anyone. It is a wonderful thing... Has anyone ever noticed all the 'eating' going on in the Song of Solomn? What, do you actually think it's all literal fruit?
It is really no ones business what goes on in someone's bedroom...Amazes me how many people treat the elders like Catholic priests. Must confess the sin to be absolved. PAH-LEASE! God gave us bodies, he gave us the ability to enjoy being with someone to share the gift of touch. To enjoy the sighs and moans of giving pleasure....The small minded fear what they do not know, and cannot understand...Believe me I know...Been there, done that and even got the tee shirt.....
God gave us minds to use, it is just too easy to sit and let someone tell what to do and how to act....Whatever happened to the scripture, "..Do not put your trust in the sons of earthling man"?
Sorry if I have offended some...not my intent. But freedom is such a wonderful thing...It does have it's price...But oh is it ever worth it!!!!!!
