America - What is your weather like in August & September
by LouBelle inasking because this is the time i'm looking at travelling to the states - but only in 2010. reason i'm leaving it till then is because i have a wedding in the united kingdom in august of that year, so it will be easier for me to pop over from there ... and cheaper.. so it's a definate that i'll be hooking up with some of you britons and followed by the americans.

time to start saving every little penny, get the passport sorted, the visa for the us of a (they interogate you), start plotting the journey.. .

Steampunk Noir Jazz with Jennifer Connelly
by inkling inso, not too long ago i saw the movie "dark city".
it's a beautiful (if somewhat flawed) movie, best known for being the matrix before the matrix, and one of it's several patches of light is this sultry dark haired dame, played by jennifer connelly.. .
her character moonlights as a jazz singer in a smoke filled dimly lit bar.

Mexico will be the Next Iraq

Just like the US, Mexico needs to take responsibility for voting in corrupt leaders, stupid drug policies etc. And deal w/ the thugs in their country. The US does'nt either, BTW. Gangs that use terror tactics, in both countries should be prosecuted and gone after the same way we go after Al Queda.

I was told off twice for what I wore to Bethel....so the Hell with them!
by Witness 007 inthe first time i went to australia bethel during a holiday, we pioneer boys put on our best "going out" clothes, no ties just very smart, well groomed and neat.
the sister we stayed with said: "oh no you can't wear those clothes, you have to dress in meeting clothes!
" so we did, realizing we had shamed ourselves and our god.

I am so happy we never succumbed and went to Bethel. We sure were chastised for it. One circuit overseer told us that it was just criminal that we lived so close and never went to Bethel, why how would our children ever reach out if they weren't exposed to it?
I dunno, exposure to Bethel @ 18 is what got me OUT. You know, the whole yarn "It's like a 4 yr. university" Then I talked to someone who'd been there four years doing laundry. Also, the vacant smiles and stares scared the shit outta me. I maybe went to four meetings after that.

Disfellowship and the jackson

i was just reading up on which jackson are still in the cult and it appears their mum is but she has not been disfellowshipped for still talking to her kids because she has a lot of money is this true?.
also, what happens if a husband and wife are jw's and one of them leaves, does the husband then shun the wife etc?.
