i was wondering if anyone has a soloution to this little problem: as we all know, the wt claims to be the faithful and discreet slave, jehovah's spirit directed channel, blah blah blah, but i don't think they ever actually said the word prophet in relation to themselves.

if they have, i've yet to find the quote.

does anyone know how to get around this problem when a thoroughly brainwashed sheep uses the defense that "the wt never said they were a prophet so that argument is not valid"?

What the hell would you call a spirit directed channel? I'd say that's a damn good definition of a prophet. Sorry, this just gets under my skin the way they try to skirt this issue, either your spirit directed or your not. No in between B.S, how the heck can you be innacurately spirit directed?

he hates it.. he wants a basic name like bobby, tony, etc.. is there a name that sounds like tristen but isn't?.

give me some ideas if you can.

for several months i have been asking my family and the organization what the difference is between someone who "simply leaves the faith" and someone who "went out" (disassociates).. http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/forum/thread.aspx?id=39631&site=3 .

today i finally got the answer from my dad on the phone.

according to my dad (an elder), someone who simply leaves the faith is someone who still believes in jehovah and the organization, but does not attend the meetings.

I stuck around for about& 5 yrs. of abuse, finally pulled my fam out.

 BUT it might have happened sooner if I was the one that bailed.

I applaud your bravery, it's one of the hardest things to do,

 but you have better reason than them, your not hurtung anyone by

leaving the jw. The jw hurts, molests & kills on a daily basis &

 has absolutely no shame, that's why JR clown, their spokesman

sticks his foot in it all the time & does'nt even realize that

 he's hanging the entire org. legally.

JW causing more grief over my Dad's death Sat.

my jw sister is causing problems with my dad's death this past saturday..she is down in florida, where my parents live, went there on a pleasure trip to begin with, then our dad passed (as i wrote) unexpectedly..now, she is pressuring my mom to have a viewing and a 'talk' by some jw's and my mom does not want this..my sister is one of those 'double life' jw's..she says unkind things about me behind my back, re: my illness(as my mom has told me), but she has been 'engaged' for 4 yrs.to a 'worldly guy' and we all know they sleep together, etc.,then she turns around and acts like she's miss spirituality..for her to do what she's doing now, well i don't know what to do..i want my mom and dad's wishes to be #1, and for her to try and pressure my mom into a service, also without giving me a chance to be there, well i'm not feeling too good at this point..thank you all so much for your replies, e-mails and love..don't know what i would do without you guys.

The way I see it it's two to one in your favor, also your mom is ill. Your sister needs to realize that a jw service is'nt going to change god's mind either way. Harrassing your sick mother WILL have an affect on the way "god" views her!

i love time travel movies ...back to the future, millenium, the twelve monkeys etc.... i just found this great site that analyses / explains some of the time travel 'twists'.

for instance, in twelve monkeys you are seeing the 6th or 7th iteration of the timeline.
