I have talked to them about not pushing their JW bullshit on the kids, which ended in them not talking to me for about 8 months.
Imho, If they were my kids, Pushing jw bs= No grandkids. Seriously, reverse the situation. If they won't talk to you, under no circumstances should they be allowed contact w/ your kids, I work w/ emotionally disturbed kids, & one of the most harmful things that can happen, short of abuse is others subverting parental structure. If they want to keep it up, dont let them have ANY contact w/ your kids, & stick to it til they can play nice. They think they are RIGHT hence they have the RIGHT to ignore your intructions on YOUR OWN CHILDREN!!!!!!!! Thats wrong on so many levels I dont even know where to start. I know their your folks, & you may luv 'em & all, but your kids are far more important.

Even though my husband and I knew what he was df'd for, most of the congregation did not, including the other pioneers.
Still, we had to keep his reputation in tact...I just put my foot down and said never again would my daughter go in service without us and came out looking like an idiot
Why? You and your husband were also ministers, legally, & I don't know what state you come from, but in mandatory reporting states, ALL ministers are culpable, not just ministers. Well, you knew, did you ever report it? I'm just trying to point out that this is not just an "elder" problem. Sure, we were dupes, & trusted in "jehovah" & the "elders" to do the right thing, but using that as an excuse really smacks of "I was just following" orders to me. Integ, where is all this anger coming from? Is someone hurting you at the hall? Since you arent allowed to talk to apostates, I can only assume that your life is somehow unsatisfactory & you are throwing your displaced rage at us on this board. I dont go to your hall & stand in the lot, yelling about how i was beaten by 2 different elders as a child, Or how my mothers arm has permanent nerve damage to her arms as the result of an assault by an elder. Or the friends I have, I dead, one nearly so as the result of suicide/ suicide attempts due to years of ritual molestation that could have easily been stopped by the elders after these pedophiles were reported many, many times. I understand your anger, & where it comes from. Tell us why you are hurting, & feel justified in trying to come here heaping your anger on us. Maybe we can help, or refer you to a good counselor

i was raised a jw and baptized at 15 although to say i was dedicated was stupid, anyway began to fade with my wife after we were married and finally broke away about 10 years ago although we were not da,d or df,d.
three years ago i decided to do what i had always wanted to and joined the airforce which i am immensly proud of and enjoy greatly ,somrthing i could never say about being a jw.
If they tell you they are going to da you, tell them you will sue the ever living $hit out of them. This has worked in the past, & I believe they have been sued successfully over their stance on the armed forces. Then, see if they da you, I highly doubt it will happen. If they do, sue them on the basis that they belonged to a militaristic org. (the UN) & have investments in military tech.
the issue of blood remains a tricky one.. personally, i think that the ot prohibition of blood is more of a statement of respect for life and in particular respect for the life of the animal that lost it life in providing food for man.
similarly, it was prohibited for a calf to be cooked in the milk of its mother.. with blood transfusions, no one actually dies and, therefore, in my view blood transfusion is more a matter of personal conscience than centrally dictated law.. undeniably though, it is clear that risks are associated with blood transfusions, particularly hepatitis c.. if an alternative were available, would you not choose this every time over whole blood?

Sword of jah, do you eat meat? Is it prepared by a Shoket (jewish butcher)? If not, you probably eat blood every day. It does not "cook out" as the jw's say, that's a bunch of hooey, blood cells don't evaporate. If they were really as concerned about blood as they say they are, they would make you have special butchers. But, see thats no big deal, to eat blood on a daily basis for them. But if it involves life or death, It's death every time. I'm willing to bet that more jw's die from this ridiculous policy EVERY YEAR than died at jonestown & heaven's gate combined. for those who wrote sharon roe (sister of janet and robert bryant) a few months back and sent your love and support i have a message from sharon.
i just got off the phone with her and she wanted me to pass on her love and thanks to all of you for taking the time to send your messages.
the notes you wrote lifted her spirits and she is now beginning to understand that she is not alone.
Dave, I know of the support youve given Sharon over the last year, & from what I hear it's been monumental. I for one, knowing her & her immediate family really appreciate all that you have done. I'll give her a call tonight, & say hi.
