Painting, huh? One tactic I've seen work in the past is " Im very busy, if you pick up a brush & gimme a hand, I'll talk to ya while we work. They'll refuse, don't wanna get paint on their nice suits, dontcha know, + it's beneath them.

What are your experiences of dating in the truth?
by goofy ini really never dated that much inside the orgainisation because of a lack of available brothers.
the couple of times i did not great.
i once asked a brother out and it was all over the congregation as to how inappropriate that was since it should be the man who does the asking.

Wow. I dated a few, & found the more "active" they were(aux. & reg pioneers) the more likely they were to be "naughty". dunno why. Lot's of 'em would also smoke pot, surprisingly. Or smoke cigs when no one is looking. Back a few years ago I would of called them hypocrites cuz of the double life, but now I know so many of 'em were so screwed up, I dont begrudge them.

What should we reply when invited to memorial?

if you've been there once, there's no need to go again since the talk is the same mumbo-jumbo year after year and i'm not anointed anyway.".

Witchchild, I just put MY 9 mo. old, born june 10, down to sleep. I understand totally. Avishai, of the I will end you if you mess w/my kid father class.
My Mom (me too) is now horrified to remember that she started spanking me @ 4 mo. old, as per congregational approval. Some people on these threads say "I don't think JW discipline is any worse than others" & I can see that viewpoint. I moved around A LOT as a kid, & saw that some congs were more conservative & some more liberal. Some congregations would have been horrified @ the 10 or 15 beatings per night at a certain hall, & THAT hall would be horrified at the tolerance of the disapproving one.

Elders decide who is anointed?
by Maverick inon blondies post about watchtower comments you will not hear 03/30/03, a point was brought up about the elder that counts who partake not counting certain ones.
if i understand that right, those with the 'eartly' hope decide who has the 'heavenly' hope.
the society's reasoning is that these partaker might be confused.

Yup. It apparently (Non-anointed elders telling him that he was'nt annointed) was what drove Robert Bryant over the edge. They df'd hom for believing that he was anointed, & disagreeing w/ them when they told him he was'nt. What a bunch of swell fellas!
