For Daughters
by purplesofa inmy mother and i do not get along very well, it's not just with me, she does not get along with all her kids.
i have not liked my mom for many years.. so, here lately, i find myself acting like my mom, at least i think i am in some way.. like her undesirable traits are in me and creeping out.. were they always there?
have i always been like her and was in denial?.

Father dying - request for suggestions how to best use time
by rmt1 ini am a staunch atheist, so i don't need any advice directed at myself in terms of what i should pray about, what i should believe in, ect.. .
what i do need advice about is how or to what degree i need to bear in mind the jw mindset and paradise earth hope.
now, from my perspective, he has wasted his life waiting for armageddon, and now he gets to see exactly how much of jah's paradise is ever coming to earth - zilch.

My DF'd paramedic uncle took care of my father while he died. My dad pretty much ignored him, even as he took care of him. My Uncles quiet grace and loving example in the face of what must have been hell for him, later really helped me on my way out. I was only 13 at the time, but I remember the JW family being total weirdo's, and my df'd uncle and aunt were great. So, if you have nieces and nephews, remember that. Sounds like you are already on the right path though.

"They no longer attend meetings"
by truthseeker inword has got our that mr. and mrs. truthseeker no longer attend meetings.. we still live in the territory of our old congregation.
instead of taking the time to call us and see how we're doing, the "friends" prefer to talk about us behind our backs, one of whom passed information to my wife's mother (who is a loyal witness) that we do not attend meetings.. just waiting for the ball to drop.. .

If you know a GOOD counselor who specializes in this kind of thing, it may be good to have them communicate in a neutral environment, as well as solo w/ the counselor. nothing brings up issues like family, no matter how hard one tries or how well intentioned. Could make the transition much smoother if they both have the tools in place to deal with it.

He was found out by Mia when she found nekkid pics woody took, when Sun-yi, was, i believe underage. He was'nt convicted, but with his money, I'm not surprised. Dammit, I'm shaving my head! LOL.
The subtext w/ Mariel Hemingway in "Manhattan" is disturbing, as I also believe that he puts alot of autobiographical stuff in his pics. I do like his early stand up. Hard to find but hillarious.
