here is what this "special topic" describes with deadly false propaganda.. "a person might ask why we would single out the witnesses in this matter.

as with other fundamentalist cults, the watchtower goes by the bible advice only when it comes to exposing crimes regarding children or anyone else, that there must be two or more witnesses to a crime.

since abuse and molestation are rarely seen by anyone other than the perpetrator and the victim (and the victim will rarely testify against himself), perhaps hundreds or thousands of cases have gone unpunished, and the perpetrator has not been brought to the police, and the congregation has not been told.

Do those new guidelines work? Will they work better than the guidelines that were allready in place alot longer with JW's?

They should of made that guideline with the celabacy thing. Since it invites danger and very bad results.

I agree with you on the celabacy issue, I would have probably entered the priesthood if there was no celabacy in the Church. What are the guidelines that were already in place with the JW's . What I have seen is that you need two witness' and if you are repentant then you can resume *(eventually) all of your previous duties. the new American Catholic would not allow them to repent and come back into the priesthood.

Just so you don't get lost here is the question of this post.

What are the guidelines that have been in place for the JW's.

Hopefully here is your answer. you keep leading back to the Church (Catholic)

you ask why no one in rome is going to jail. Do you read the papers? Are you aware of the new guidelines for American catholic priests. Read up on it it might interest you. Zero tolerance remove from service and if convicted Excommunication. American bishops are institutiong this policy without it being approved by the pope. Could your elders do something like that?

Anyway, I am Catholic, I wholeheartedly agree with you. Anyone who does the crime should do the time. Catholic JW or whoever. The difference between the two is that the Catholics admit there is a problem, The WTBTS says there is no problem and If someone speaks out there is the real possibility of being DF'd. Is there a problem in the watchtower org. Could you go to Bethel and picket with a sign saying Reform remove peds. from our Kingdom halls Repent reform and Change .

Here is the difference. I can do that as a Catholic, I could picket my local parrish the bishops residence or even the vatican. There would be no repecussions, I would have no fear of retribution. If you did that would you be treatted the same?

if you had the power, and ability to change one thing in your life, be it a major life changing thing, or a small but significant thing, tell me what and how you would do it, and how it actually was, and how it would be different after the change.

please don't include jw'ism as that's something we would all want to change

No Soul sleep no grave of unconsciencness. Tell your dad goodbye now or how about hello. Tell him you love him feel free to talk to him I do all of the time. ok. i am thinking of trying this to maybe get my family to start questioning things.. here's what i want to do.

i want to get one of the ray franz books and casually leave it available for them to pick up.

my mother is not that bright to where she may think its something my dad brought home and open it up.

How could have Rutherford been a 'drunk'?

i feel that the apostate's claims that rutherford was a drunk to be far fetched.

on the one hand, they claim that he was so drunk that the brothers at bethel shipped him to san diego to beth sarim, where he stayed drunk out of his mind, then on the other hand, they claimed that he ruled the society with an iron fist, that he was a dictator.

no drunk could have ruled the society like a dictator.

Shunning as a Tool

Catholics have no shunning practice at all. You can be ex-communicated for true apostacy (turning away from god) but the catholic view is to love the sinner hate the sin. So there is no shunning people who fall away are viewed as those who need the most love. It goes in line with the parable of the shepherder who leaves the flock to find one lost sheep.

As a catholic I could stand up in the middle of mass and say I disagree and there would be no consequences. No Catholic would as we view the mass with more dignity than that and would wait until after mass to tell the priest we disagree.
Anouther way to show what I mean is, I could walk up to my priest, Bishop, or Pope even and say something like I feel celebacy in the priesthood is wrong and I think the church should change.
As a witness could you have done that?

my daughter was on my pc and i was still signed into my im.

i was trying to take a nap.

anyway, a fellow member of this board ..who shall remain nameless signed in on im and my daughter told them i was napping, this then made me a prime target for a prank..

I love pranks,

For April fools day this year, I filled large garbage bags full of helium and wedged them in among my cans at the curb. So we waited for the poor unsuspecting trash guy to come. When he gets there he grabbed the first can and two bags shot up into the sky, he was kind of dazed watching them float away. The third bag had a hole in it and only floated about 4 ft off the ground, when he saw it floating down the street he chased it down before it got away. When he got back I met him at the truck and told him happy april fools day. He took it really well and laughed along.

My own, hmm It is hard to say, first feelings of probs with the witness' would be that I was treated as a lower life form at work. The manager was a witness half or more of the crew were also. Every tues and thurs 10 - 20 from the hall would come in and have coffee. I was looked down on and talked down to. I thought Nice come right from "church" and act like this?? Where is the love that I hear and see when I go to my church. Well that was what raised my eyebrows and then when I started dating my wife I started hearing things that aren't in the Bible I read. and so began my studies.
