  .....said the exiting jw.. this jw saw it all, the games, the politics.

  oh, and how this quality of "humility" was used as an anvil to keep, not just your actions in line, but your thoughts and feelings as well.. the leadership of jw's is an extremely talented bunch.

  they know exactly how to reframe concepts to their own ends.. so, once you have your awakening, and you leave, and you remember how often you were symbolically on your knees all the time, you say "never again!".

  before i dive into the actual write-up of this experience, let me put some things straight.. i have thought long and hard if i should write more about my experiences during the 10+ years at different branches.

  during these years i worked from financial department, service department, home office and different it assignments.

  as you can imagine one sees and hears and reads a lot of stuff going through different stations in different countries.

  Wow anonymouz: Yankee speak is as bad as Limey Cockney, me 'ol flower! Me Pa is too bewildered these days to keep up with it all... he sticks to basics and you will see him several mornings during the month, outside one of the London Underground (Yankee = Metro) stations, dishing out the mags. His zeal has not diminished... but he hasn't kept up with the times.. and the changes and morphs of the WT are complicating the onset of his dementia. Sad... I want to cuddle him, while I've got him.

  Minimus! Me 'ol china... "I'm knackered" is (particularly) a London expression... meaning "I am tired" (beyond exhaustion). The Knackers Yard is where they took the old 'orses to render them down.

  As a kid, my JW Elder father, slapped me round the back of the neck when I used the expression. For him, as a dock worker, it was beyond the "bloodys" and "shits" and was more in line with the f***s and c***s. A regional thing I guess.

  I am a true blue Cockney 'fellah... not quite barrow boy... but will give you a complete run for yer money in the East End. Even the ATMs on the bank walls will offer yer a Ton or a Pony, me 'ol Son.... then you can come with me for a plate of Jellied Eels wiv some Pie 'n Mash.

  BTW, I f***ed off years ago... but I still luv me 'ol man. At 85 he, and the Golden Oldies still tread the streets wiv the same enthusiasm and clock up the hours. Why should I change his view on life now...

  There woz a group of 'em in the London Royal Albert docks in the '60's who put their balls on the chopping block for standing up to their new found faith. It was the Divine name that did it... chalked over the dockside sheds.. and the interested few, put their collars up, fags in mouth.. and started to read. Dad was the 1st JW in the UK to have a copy of the book "The Truth that Leads to Eternal Life".. nicked, of course.. and put under oath from HQ not to breathe a word. It sat at home, and I didn't even notice it til after the District Assembly. There started my trail, my enthusiasm and disillusionment.

  Sorry for the London speak, minimus, I am a COCKNEY and proud of it, guv. Cock's eggs were rare in Shakespearean times.

  Blood sausage

  while visiting our neighbors across the pond, i visited a butcher store to rustle up something for supper.

  that was the first time i had ever seen blood sausage.

  we just never see it over here in the states.. when a witness leaves the organization over there, do they all eat blood sausage once again?

  I still have a total abhorrance for Black Pudding... I would rather eat my Mother's own blood clots than touch the stuff. In central France too, they tend to drain the Cow onto a huge vat of Mashed Potato and fry the blood filled mass as a delicacy. I have modified my views on the "Blood Issue" since I left.. but still find the thought of feasting on the stuff... utterly repugnant... won't stock it in the fridge or use the same frying pan unless it is thoroughly cleaned and sterilized first.... YUK... but each to his/her own.

  for the ones based in britain only the "few" were invited to attend the agm .they received their new grey bible and the rumor was that the new bible will not be available for the rest of the congragations until january .it was confirmed tonight .a letter was read as local announcement that the new bibles will not be available until the end of january for the rest of the congragation .all the in crowd were sat there with their new flashy bible looking smug.also the bible reading was read from the new bible to make it all the more obvious ..... the real aftermath of agm....

  Imperfect men, indeed SfPW: From sad experience, I can assure you that the UK branch is full of Elitism and favouritism amongst the Committee and the Rank and File. All you are seeing is the Watchtower, Publishing Wheel doing full circle... constantly producing "New Light" . It is like turning around a Super Tanker in shallow waters. By the time the correct course has been set, the observers are bored and are quickly distracted by other manoeuvres.

  This is not the Way of Life I knew.. It wasn't a "Religion" then... and in the past 30 years, "The Tanker" has turned away from the "route" I chose to follow. The old "Truth" is now a lie!... why did I preach such falsehood to others... and how can the "Golden Oldies" stand by and accept such alterations without question? Beats me. I walked away... disillusioned

  OWWWWIE!!!! Plantar's wart.....

  kk, i've had a small plantar's wart on the bottom of my big toe for a looooooong time.. recently, it started getting bigger and more painful.

  i googled, and found a home remedy consisting of placing apple cider vinegar soaked cotton balls on the wart and covering it in duct tape.. can i just say......this f**cking hurts!!!!!.

  it's been almost a week, and it's turned black which means (i think.....i hope) that it's working.. extremely painful.....can barely walk....it throbs constantly....i have to get up in the night and deal with it.. anyone?.
