OWWWWIE!!!! Plantar's wart.....
by palmtree67 inkk, i've had a small plantar's wart on the bottom of my big toe for a looooooong time.. recently, it started getting bigger and more painful.
i googled, and found a home remedy consisting of placing apple cider vinegar soaked cotton balls on the wart and covering it in duct tape.. can i just say......this f**cking hurts!!!!!.
it's been almost a week, and it's turned black which means (i think.....i hope) that it's working.. extremely painful.....can barely walk....it throbs constantly....i have to get up in the night and deal with it.. anyone?.

How long did Conventions used to be?
by donuthole ini remember as a child in the 1980's attending four day conventions.
i know in the past conventions were even longer.
does anyone know how long they use to last and the approximate years?

JWs in the UK diferrent to USA or elsewhere?
by punkofnice ini am in the uk.. i have an ex-jw relative in the usa.
he says that having lived ib both the uk and the usa that the jws are different from the uk to the usa.. how true could this be?.
at least int he area i grew up the term 'mother' for the organization is not familiar to me.

Totally agree with you PunkofNice: It was my observations in the congregation I attended in Florida and the strictness of UK congregations that made me think deeply about whether this was a Spirit directed organisation or one ruled by the foibles and preferences of men.
Although I appreciated the "scenary", I was embarrassed in Field Service by the 16 year old who accompanied me... ankle bracelets and a mini belt (not even in the Kings Road, had I seen anythng worn so short!) with a low plunging neck line... no wonder she had a substantial "Route" call.
I am very surprised that the U.S hasn't had a West Coast/East Coast split... JW's out west seem to get away with a lot that Brits. find astonishing.
I came back to Bethel from that trip with a rather stunning looking moustache. The Branch Committee met and decided I had to take it off. Meanwhile I was dealing with extreme family problems, in large part precipitated by that dictatorial and Plutocratic regime.
It seemed we had to follow everyone else' regime, and were not allowed to use our own. Result? WT Clones

I prayed and then there was a knock at the door ...
by wannabefree ini had heard about the mormons, but i had not been the least interested in them.
in that 5 month time period from when i prayed to god up until the day i got saved, no mormons or jehovah's witnesses came knocking on my door and they would always come to my house on saturdays.

I was a young member of the Full Gospel Pentecostal church in my home town.. that evening I found myself praying to God and asking Jesus to come in to my life, giving my life to him. I was standing outside the entertainment hall of a holiday camp in Camber Sands in the English county of Kent.
A voice from a young girl stunned me, thankfully she could not see my blushes in the moonlight of the dark sky. We spoke, we went back into the hall to enjoy the evening with her and her family.
At the same time, my Father has been on a voyage of discovery to find his mother's carer during the second world war in London. "Find Grace" his mum said just before she died, "and thank her for me, for all her care..."
Dad was looking for the answers in the early sixties...
Grace turned out to be one of Jehovah's Witnesses... We attended our first circuit assembly in Seven Kings, Ilford.
A girl walked out of the crowd to say hello... she only lived a mile down the road from our home. She was one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
I studied and was baptized as a JW by my own Father on April 25th 1971.
I thought then... my prayers were answered.

Sadly, here in the UK... the general police profile has been sullied in recent years. Currently, not one, but 2 Police Commissioners have resigned in London. Policing by the London Metropolitan Police is overseen by a stand in.. until a permanent replacement is found.
This is not a reflection on EVERY police officer, nowadays, but increasingly I hear the mantra... "It takes scum to catch scum."
In order to understand the criminal mind... you need one yourself!
The British Police have sunk to the level and below the level of Mafia run regimes and third world juntas.
Vigilantes are now coming forward to police their own communities. The normal phlegm of the average Brit. is being replaced by a spirit of self protection. This time the powder keg just might ignite.
Apocalypitic? Symptomatic of regime change, maybe... both politicly and economically.
I start Chinese and Punjabi lessons next week... just in case I need to move to the "Free" world (pokes stick and stirs the scorpion's nest)

When the Brixton race riots kicked off a few years ago, even some of the kids of the local JW's joined in.
The U.K is now truly a multi racial community... it is no longer the province of the plegmatic (apathetic) Brit.
We note Polish at the head of the Unions, cultural diversity amongth the cohorts of students.
The British government has sipped the tea of apathy for too long... the powder keg is in our communities.. our highways (motorways U.K) are lined with cameras for number plate recognition. These can be switched virtually overnight for taxation purpose and of course security surveillance.
We Brits have an imminent rude awakening. Our Government can no longer depend on obedient queues and social handouts.
They started the economy cuts at the bottom of the social rung, and still let the greedy top, benefit whilst Rome (London) is burning.
The demise of the Anglo-American world power nearing completion. Watch the TV and and the Internet whilst social networks whip up the flames of the disenfranchised.

Do you believe in an annointed class?
by irondork inregarless of their identity - in fact, if they are really "discreet" their identity should probably remain unknown - do you believe the bible speaks of a spirit annointed class of folks, a limited number of humans that have been called to heaven to serve with jesus?.
