  "Generation" in the new September 2011 "Awake"

  that is how encyclopdia britannica online described the recession that hit the world recently....".

  The Awake is titled

  "HOW TO MANAGE MONEY"

  so I guess now they feel qualified to dispense financial advise or too many dubbies are having a hard time making it on minimum wage with no high school diploma or university degree.

  One part that is a potential false statement is how they portray the effects of compound interest

  The article stated that in recent times in some countries(of course the country wasn't mentioned or the "recent times") might have been the late 80's or 90's when interest was high. Anyway the Awake stated that in just 10 years the interest exceeded the principle invested.

  That part is may be truthful, however without knowing the inflation rate of "recent times in some countries" one does not know if there is a financial gain in real dollars or the rate of inflation may have been higher than the rate of interest and the investor may have lost real purchasing power by staying in a cash investment vs a hard investment like gold or silver or real estate.

  An extreme example of this is Zimbabwe which pays out 800% interest but the inflation rate is 6600% so by putting money in the bank well you'd really at the end of the year in buying power only have 1/4 of your money left although the numbers would look like you made money.

  Pangs of Conscience - June 2011 KM

  there is an article in the latest kingdom ministry about counting time spent in the ministry.

  one comment surprised me - it says that counting time wrongly can lead to "pangs of conscience".

  a bit of an ott expression , i can't help thinking.. the only pangs the local pioneers are concerned about here are hunger pangs as they head to dunkin donuts for a 40 minute "break".

  let's call it a very ugly version of "joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat" recreated as a musicless "a young life serving god ain't worth living.".

  it included a highly fictionalized account of joseph being abused by his brothers for serving god and being loved by jacob.

  there was no mention of joseph's dreams that degraded his brothers and father.
