The light keeps diminishing
by Slidin Fast intoday's wt says it all.
read this, it accurately portrays the last 50 years of fading light from the saddest bunch of con-men in history.. 15 to answer, imagine that you are reading a book by the light of a 100-watt bulb, but then the bulb fails.
since you are left in the dark, you immedi- ately notice what happened and replace the burned-out bulb with a new one.

What a stupid illustration. No one commented on this at the study today and the wt conductor didn't dig for answers.
Why so stupid? There is no such thing as a 95 or 90 watt light bulb. Obviously the writer never had to change one or never purchased one.
watt is a term for electrical usage not light output. Lumens would have been the correct term to use. Maybe some of the writers should go get an electrical engineering degree at university so they can have factual articles

Thought Reform and the Psychology of the 'Safeguard Your Heart!' 2012 Convention
by breakfast of champions into make attendance at my second district convention "mentally out" both a little more bearable and meaningful, i decided to take some notes of key points as if i were an outsider studying the thought reform methods of jehovah's witnesses.
at first, i was only going to share these notes with my therapist, but inspired by the "parsing the watchtower double-speak" thread, i figured i would share my amateur analysis with everyone.
here are some of the highlights:.

I really think they are setting up to do a major shift in doctrine.

What to do with our money (estate) when we die?
by life is to short inmy husband just gave me the km for june.
i thought the question box was interesting.
it asks the question "what should be kept in mind if we want some or all of our assets to go to jehovah's organization upon our death?".

I wish there were more JW's resisting the extreme elements within the religion
by Hermano ini wish there were more jw's resisting the extreme elements within the religion.
i beleive there are many who know some of the things they hear and read are whack, but stay because they think it's still the group god has chosen.
but there are ways to voice your opinion without being too vocal or disassociating:.

and everyone waits for the next guy to make a move and nothing gets done because of fear

once you know the truth about the truth it is almost impossible to go back without having a mental breakdown.

Perhaps the backstabbing environment is fostered by the leaders on purpose to create the isolation?
this is one thing I agree with wholeheartedly!
one idea I had to get people thinking is to ask what would jesus do? what does the bible say about lying, slander, non scriptural rules etc?
that way it puts the onus back on the word of god and not many are willing to argue with that

The problem is you never know who to trust. Once labelled "apostate" or "critical of the organization" no one will have anything to do with you. It is a very narrow road to walk on indeed.

" Bullies prey on loners and part of bullying is making the victim feel like everyone is against him."
"What if the brother who sent his kids to college got together with the brother who talks to his disfellowshipped son and the brother who barely goes out in service and just had a good time talking about anything and everything except for the religion? "
they, the ones taking the lead won't allow this to happen, ever! they purposely make the service groups to keep independant thinkers separated.
They love bomb certain individuals and ignore others to separate them. I have seen it with my very eyes and witnessed it first hand, the controllers splitting up fellowship of like-minded individuals. They will drive a wedge between husband/wife, parent/child if they have to . Anything to keep control.
like I said before a classic example of workplace/religious bullying
