Beginning January 1, 2015, the arrangement for congregations to use the first Saturday of each month to concentrate on starting Bible studies will be discontinued. Instead, publishers may offer magazines as they do on other Saturdays. We can offer Bible studies anytime during the month, using magazines or other study publications.
They finally figured out that nobody offers bible studies on Saturdays. That would require committment to go back.

The assistant should be a member of the student’s family or a brother in the congregation.

so with NO LOCAL NEEDS PARTS , what do they do?
by ?me? inif they are going to replace the local needs with feel good interviews of our "friends".
what are they going to do for marking talks?
now we will not know that a situation "has been handled" by the elders.

They would ask someone like me to do a testimonial and I would tell them the reason I got baptized was because I was told in the 1980's that the generation of 1914 was getting old and that I would die at Armageddon soon if I wasn't baptized.

It's good f#%^ up insurance. Instead of having to say we f#%^ed up when we got it totally wrong and sorry we f#%^ed up your life for the last 30 of so years they can pull some scripture in proverbs out, totally use it out of context, call it noo lite and totally f%#} up another generation of kids.

Don't say "the truth", say the Jehovah's Witness religion
by hoser inwhen i meet up with a jay dubya i've never met before and the conversation inevitably turns to "so where did you learn the truth?
i reply" my parents joined the jehovahs witness religion in 1982".

I prefer to use the word religion because it lumps them in with the rest of false religion.
Its all false btw but that is another topic

I caught him saying something similar. He was talking to the young ones and made the comment that they are the future of the organisation, the future elders and pioneers etc.
armageddon ain't coming anytime soon and they know it.

don't say "worldly" say non-jehovahs witness

Here's another buzzword that burns my butt. Worldly. I refuse to say it. Worldly association. I say " It was a non-jehovahs witness function."
BTW worldly can be used as a compliment or a put down. Worldly means that a person has done a lot of things in their life, travelled a lot, or is experienced or sophisticated.
So go ahead and call me worldly, I'll take it as a compliment!

Good point smiddy. From what I understand they got out of radio brodcasting because door-to-door preachers were more effective in spreading the good news. Correct me if I'm wrong blondie.
So fast forward 70 years and they go back to mass media? Maybe the preaching isnt as effective anymore?

I refuse to use the term "the truth" in reference to jehovahs witnesses anymore.
