Did anyone take a close look at her hands?
Did anyone at the assembly call the police and report the father for child abuse?
ok so aparently there was this young girl who wanted to study with the jw's because she loved the bible so much.
she asked her fathers permission but he refused, after much nagging though he said she could have a study if she was prepared to have one of her fingers chopped off.
he thought the is would stop her but she was willing so he got a knife and cut off one of her fingers... a little while later she wanted to attend the meetings and he said no and again when nagged said she could attend meetings if she had another finger chopped off so she agreed and he chopped off a second finger.

i could find another thread so i thought i might add a few comments here - not a full critique though.
"hear jehovah's voice wherever you are".

I thought what a loser that is grown up and still sits between mom and dad at the meetings.
recently, we drove by the kingdom hall in galena, il, the sign was removed and it was closed down.
a while back, the hall in taylor mo was also closed.
one congregation in peoria, il was dissolved last year.
I know of 9 in my region
an odd letter was read at last nights' meeting.
it was in regards to a special campaign for next year arranged by the governing body to go and preach in israel.
the call is going out to anybody that speaks hebrew and english.
OK so this is from the US department of state
http://www.state.gov/j/drl/rls/irf/2011/nea/192887.htm
From the above documents
"During the year members of Jehovah’s Witnesses reported assaults, threats of violence, and other crimes and noted the difficulties their members faced in convincing the police to investigate or apprehend the perpetrators. On August 13, in Holon, approximately 15 Haredi men disrupted a religious meeting held at a sports hall and one of them punched a member of the community. However, after police questioned the attacker, authorities only gave him a restraining order."
"After Jehovah’s Witnesses held several meetings in the Raanana sports hall in November, city council member Ilan Cohen called publicly for halls to refuse to rent space for “missionary activities.” Afterwards the sports hall could no longer find an available date for any future Jehovah’s Witnesses’ gathering. In Netanya on December 13, police fined two members of Jehovah’s Witnesses NIS 730 ($200) each for sharing their faith from door to door and passing out free literature, stating in the citation that such religious activity was “peddling” without a license. Authorities also confiscated their Bibles."
"Major Protestant denominations that have been in the country for many years, such as the Assemblies of God, Baptists, and Lutherans, among others, are not recognized. Four religious communities that have applied for official recognition have had their applications pending for years: Ethiopian Orthodox, Coptic Orthodox, Evangelical Lutheran Church, and the Evangelical Alliance of Israel. Jehovah’s Witnesses presented two applications for recognition as a religious congregation, in 2003 and 2008, which were rejected."
As noted in previous posts the watchtower corporation is using this campaign to cry persecution. They throw their own under the bus.
hi everyone, im begining to notice patterns of mental issues in the congregations and among the witnesses as a group.
do you think this is a trend in the entire world or is it exagerated in this organization?.
.
As recently as a year ago elders in my congregation were implying to a friend of mine that his mental illness was a direct result of some secret sin he was hiding.

I wonder if they will do something like this?

so what are you doing to enjoy yourself?
doesn't have to be for anyone around you, or have anything to do with jw world.
just something that you do for you and only you and that fills your soul (whatever that means).
I went to the local pub on thursday night cause I thought I had Friday off. I walked in and there were 2 ex jws there, both faded. One started buying me drinks and before I knew it the bartender announced it was last call. I happened to look at my phone for some reason and realized that I had been mistaken. I had to work on Friday. Oh $hit! I stumbled home at 2:30 am and was able to make it for 8 am work! Life is short and I'm lovin it
cashing in on death.
death is payday for the jehovah witnesses.
it's what they celebrate.
My wife's aunt and uncle converted to Jws later in life. Their kids were grown when they "came into the truth". The kids never became Jws. The couple died within a couple of months of each other and had an estate worth hundreds of thousands. They had been convinced by the PO to will it all to the branch. One of the daughters was so pissed off she didn't even go to the funeral.
this was posted on a jw site and it would be nice if we could verify.. .. .. as of february 2015, the awake!
will come as a part of the watchtower public edition instead of as a separate magazine.
this is a huge change... with serious cost savings.
Someone on this board predicted this some time ago. Our prophecies come true!
