New theory on GB or the mysterious people who profit from all the money going to the WT

with all the money grabs and shady things going on, you wonder how can they actually believe they are representing god and even believe in god and still be doing these things.. then i thought, what if a trend started awhile back, people who gave up everything and got high in the org, but also since they got high up, they were privy and learned things that convinced them it was a lie.

now if they remained believers, they may end up like ray franz, a true believer wouldn't want to deceive people seeking god, they would be afraid of god's wrath.. since as is shown on this board many also become athiests, some could have become so while still in and in high ranks.

at this point they think of their options, a. leave, screwed, welfare, older they are the harder to adjust and everybody turns on them or b. kind of shady but the org and everyone put them in this position and they will turn on them in a heartbeat with no remorse so he is going to beat them to it and insure the rest of his/their lives are well taken care of and going to get rich off it.. so those higher ups who turn athiest opt for option b since they don't believe in any god and since the whole org will turn on them for disagreeing and not believing and leave them with nothing, they will instead keep working their way up, start companies for the things wt already buys, turn it into a big cash cow for themselves.

I am highly suspicious that at the regional building committee level there were dishonest dealings and kickbacks going on. In one congregation where they did a refurbishment the initial estimate required specialized equipment that a brother happened to own to do foundation work. This would have added 50000 dollars to the cost of the project. the rbc told the congregation that if this foundation work wasnt done they wouldn't do the renovation.

It it turned out that the congregation couldn't raise all the money and the brother sold his machine and the Reno went ahead anyway without the foundation repair.

Another congregation was forced to upgrade their sound system to be in compliance with what other congregations had for the tune of 10 grand. Priced out on line the sound system is at the most 2000 dollars.

Somebody is making money on some level.

are you spiritually grown up.. summary: if you are between 18-35 and not ms or elder, you lazy idiot are like a child.

at this age, especially if you grew up in "da trooooth" you have no issue with jw.org doctrine right (how do you know...?

did your congregation have a circuit overseer visit recently? Remember $hit rolls downhill. Perhaps the elders got crapped on by the co for not having enough young brothers reaching out and this is their reaction.

Any elders out there? How to Local needs talks work?

so a local needs talk was lovingly given at our hall last week that i'm positive targeted me specifically.

it had to do with missing meetings for work.

they even had a demo on what we should do if our boss asks us to stay overtime on a meeting night (basically say "no" and risk losing your great job which you have no desire whatsoever to lose)... so i'm aware that there's a sort of protocol the elders follow when someone in the hall needs to work on something.

I had this happen to me but it was in a public talk. The elder who really doesn't like me went above and beyond the outline and described my materialistic lifestyle to a t. very soon after many started to shun us Some unfriended me on Facebook. Funny though no one ever told me one on one that I was doing anything wrong.

i almost wonder if some awakened, still-in, from this site is part of the writing department or illustrations and put that in there as an inside joke for us?.

VISIBILITY

breakfast of champions mentioned this on the elder appointment thread and it struck a chord with me.. is this term big in bethel?

obviously nothing in my bible says a thing about being 'seen' in serve-us or in other jw activities, but a long time bethelite went off on a visibility tirade that i remember distinctly during special servants/elders meeting when i was in.

i remember at the time thinking that the big j-dog in the heavens sees everything, so why the big fuss over the rank and file seeing us do stuff for the big j-dog?.

I know a pioneer sister that was given the ultimatum about being visible in the ministry.

She did weekday service and often worked alone. The circuit overseer told her she had to be more visible in the ministry or else lose her "priviliges". She chose the latter, quit pioneering and moved out west somewhere.

the Wt Study last Weekend

i wasn't at the study at the weekend, the reason was family health problems, but even if that had not been the case i wouldn't have been there.

has anybody else who was there or read the article noticed the unbelievable begging bowl being produced for the pioneers and cos and bethelites, etc?

maybe this has been commented on already but in effect witnesses are being asked to financially support, not only pioneers, but circuit overseers if they need medical help, and to fill in with dealing with aged parents if missionaries are abroad.

The watchtower needs to pay its employees better then they won't have to ask us to give them tips.

Elder Appointments

doing some research as to what qualifications someone needs to meet to become an elder, i came up with one conclusion: it's who you know and is very subjective.. funny thing is too, if you searc the wt online library there are not recent articles that describe and outline the requirements.

which makes me think that there were too many requirements and as we all know, it is based now on how close you are with the current co and not necessarily on being a model jw in the congo.

so the borg decided to leave it up all to the co and not tell the rest what to look for on these appointed men.. you could do your hours, be early to the meetings, be prepared, keep your car and house clean, family in good reputation, etc but if you are in the circle then you can forget it.

Wt today and funding special pioneers

does anyone else feel like it was just a way to beg for donations!!!.

the society gives them a minimal wage to preach 130 hours so we should be the ones sending them money and good and clothes.

it's not like they help the community they go to, i've known missionaries when i was younger who were in deepest darkest soith america in villages with no water, instead of passing in skills and worthwhile tools they just study then go home.

wtbs actually told people not to send money directly to missionaries because it might get lost or stolen in the mail. Instead they told jay dubs to give their money to the local branch and "they'd take care of it"
