I'm sure this happened somewhere at some time. I know if I would have continued in the "full time service" I would have probably considered offing myself. Those were the most depressing years of my life.

when a brother is introduced before a talk the audience is now given their life history/ major accomplishments .. "brother arsehole who served at bethal for five years, pioneered in the foreign language territory for ten years, is an elder in x congregation and serves in the construction projects blah blah blah".
this puffing up never used to happen?

ive seen a similar situation happen with a friend of mine who wasn't "spiritual" enough. His wife would take her parents advise over his.
having left the witnesses i hope i won't get " fooled again".
yet life outside the organisation seems one big advertistiment telling me how useless i am.
these advertisements tell me i am physically ugly, which can only be corrected by buying the advertisers " answer to my prayers" product.
It's easy to say but hard to do. BE YOUR OWN PERSON.
You will drive away the people you don't want or need in your life. Those that stick around are your real friends.
