I was programmed this way to protect the org. I’m not proud of it now but was at the time.
Many have been hurt because of this kind of behaviour.

elder should face some kind of criminal prosecution..

three of my sisters - there are five of us - were baptized as witnesses.
one of them has gone from reading voraciously to only reading her textbooks and watchtower publications.
this does not seem to be unusual among witnesses.
I think the watchtower religion is good for motivating the illiterate to learn to read. I know one brother who couldn’t read that is now a ministerial servant. He isn’t a good enough reader to give public talks but he would do the announcements when they did that. I think there are a lot of undiagnosed disabilities out there that cause illiteracy. I don’t discriminate against the intellectually disabled because no one chooses this. It is the way they are born. Kudos to brothers who make the effort to learn to read. Maybe it will help them exit the cult.
some of my jw family that is waking up posed that question to my jw family that is still hanging on to jw belief.. the stepbrother that posed that question told me;.
"in all these years of being a jw, i actually never gave it much thought as to why jehovah had to kill millions of innocent animals that had nothing to do with mankind becoming evil.".
i keep picturing in my mind, all the baby puppies and kitties that were destroyed by jehovah.
we all had some to deal with some.
you would ask yourself, “how the hell did this guy ever get to be an elder”???.
we had one elder originally from england that used to wear his pants belted up to his chest with typically a dirty spotted tie and shirt.
The circuit overseer wanted to keep up with his skills and that was the only way he could unless he stayed at a brothers house that had a piano. Being a slave to the organization this was probably the only enjoyment he could get.
That’s the way I look at it anyway.

Yes, there were more than one. A few weird circuit overseers as well.
But, hey we’re all weird in our own way. It’s all about adhering to social norms that are decided by the majority. The odd guy can’t figure out how to fit in due to autism or adhd or some other neurological disorder. I don’t hold it against anyone that is born with a disability.
The elders and circuit overseers that I truly despise are the normal ones that are abusive assholes.
the president of the united states says we have to do something about this.
many politicians and people agree that we are all affected by the scourge of systemic racism.
what’s your view of this?
It’s all stratification of society and putting a label on an individual. Is it systemic? Maybe, maybe not
i'm doing a little background research for a novel.
what is the craziest thing you heard a witness say was demonized, and what did they do about it?.
I heard that the smurf toy at the Kingdom Hall bit a kid on the leg.
i was just watching an old episode of criminal minds and there was this description of cults:.
"cults commonly have their own language.
they invent or redefine certain words only the cult members understand.
Pioneer, publisher, LDC, RBC, and all the related jargon. The language also alerts higher up members to weak members that may negatively influence the core group. That’s why they change it up on a fairly regular basis. The society has change to the organization. Kingdom ministry to kingdom service back to kingdom ministry.
maybe someone has already brought this up, but a news article i ran across:.
https://www.cnn.com/2020/12/03/health/churches-covid-1918-lesson-wellness/index.html.
brings a question to my mind.
In September 1919 they had a convention in cedar point Ohio. I guess the flu was over by then and they weren’t worried about catching it.
I also found online that they had a convention in Vancouver June 29 to July 2 1918.
I’m not sure if they isolated or just carried on as usual.its been strangely quiet on here lately about covid..or isnt it news any more.
the " not a pandemic" brigade have been noticably absent about the situation in india..
Unfortunately poor, under nourished, and over crowded people are the most at risk for dying of covid.
It isn’t a fair pandemic. Even in 1st world countries the poor suffer the most of this plague.
