I have an older relative who’s been a jw since childhood. This person has had so much jw induced trauma in their life due to following the rules of the religion. They have so much sunk costs for all the sacrifices they have made they will never leave or see ttatt .
I’ve observed several closeted alcoholics in the ranks of older jws. Just trying to cope I would assume.
The irony is that the current topic or recent topic for conversation in the ministry is about mental health.

My observations of publishers and pioneers that join foreign or special language groups is that their desire to help that group of people is secondary to their desire to use that “privilege” as a means to gain a greater social standing in the Jehovah’s Witness community.
if a publisher openly told the elders that they thought the gb were wrong about some or a lot of things, but said they will not share these thoughts with anyone else then would this be a case of disassociation disgfellowship?.
my guess is lots of elders meetings and shepherding calls to try to get you to say something they could use against you.. but what would be the sin in which you are not repented?.

In the modern day jw videos every publisher lives in a million dollar home, drives a 100k car all on window washer pay while the wife is a regular pioneer.
during the height of the pandemic all elders had to report to the co anyone who was struggling with bills or who couldn’t pay the rent.
the co reported it to the branch.. i don’t know what happens next.

I don’t think the elders in our congregation give a rats ass about poor people. They are too busy going on vacation, playing sports, moving to more prestigious neighborhoods, riding their expensive motorcycles AND telling me I’m not spiritual enough to give a shit about some single mother that can’t afford milk for her kids.

50% of my immediate family(brothers, sisters, parents ) are on meds. My elde BIL isn’t that I know of but he’s a drunk.
