  I know I'd never make it in bethel. I'd sooner bust my ass for a "worldly" corporation and be able to pay someone to make my breakfast than work for free in that sweatshop.

  they were afraid he would be df for something they did do instead of faceing possibility of being shunned commited suicide.

  I'm sure this happened somewhere at some time. I know if I would have continued in the "full time service" I would have probably considered offing myself. Those were the most depressing years of my life.

  so--ive bought a house--got the keys yesterday--took a car full of stuff over to it today--i'm upstairs--heard my wife talking to someone downstairs at the doorstep.............. yep--2 dubs--handing our invites to an assembly next month.

  but its in a town called bournemouth ( uk )--which means an hours car journey--plus a very expensive ferry crossing.

  ( i live on an offshore island ).

  at the assembly i noticed something new and disturbing.

  when a brother is introduced before a talk the audience is now given their life history/ major accomplishments .. "brother arsehole who served at bethal for five years, pioneered in the foreign language territory for ten years, is an elder in x congregation and serves in the construction projects blah blah blah".

  this puffing up never used to happen?

  he said that the parents of df or inactive do not have right to help there child why not?

  his answer its above there pay grade.

  he also said another witness helped this young lady she was a sister so another person can help your child but you cannot he said let jehovah help them.audeince dead silent..

  very long story.

  i've been away from this site for a while.. basically, i tried to leave.

  handed in my disassociation letter, it kicked up a storm and 2 weeks later i was disfellowshipped.

  ive seen a similar situation happen with a friend of mine who wasn't "spiritual" enough. His wife would take her parents advise over his.
