In one of our neighbouring congregations there was a gestapo elder. He would scope out houses of single brothers and sisters. A sisters car was parked in front of her boyfriends house all night because he was taking in to the shop where he worked as a mechanic to do some repairs. They had switched vehicles so he could work on hers. Of course elder stasi observed this and called together a jc.

As a JW Were You or Someone you Knew Falsely Accused by Elders ?
by flipper inthought i'd put this out there to see if you knew of people in the jehovah's witnesses who were falsely accused or mistreated by the " police " or elders in the congregation.
many times it's been by experiencing injustices that get us to get shaken out of our cult thinking mode and reality kicks in and the scales fall from our eyes that the wt society is just a man made organization whose leaders are no better than us - actually in many cases more unscrupulous and conniving than any of us would have ever been to each other !
i was falsely accused 2 times .

Are You Satisfied To Let The Government Take Care of You?
by minimus insome people want limited government involvement in their lives.
the less government, the happier they are.

Altruistic people think we can all live and love like hippies sharing everything we have with one another.
It works until someone thinks someone else isn’t doing their fair share of the work.
That’s why there is this magical thing called money. If you work hard and smart enough you can have more of the stuff. Why should one bust their ass so that his fellow man can sit on his?

AM3: Scare your kids into the truth
by neat blue dog inanthony morris iii on the 12/20 broadcast:.
parents need to give their children a realistic idea of what we will face in the near future.. .
.many parents choose to help their children appreciate the graphic visual imagery of a bible-based account while at the same time building trust in jehovah.

Kinda like when the circuit overseer gives his talk to the congregation. “We’re not trying to make you feel guilty” then he proceeds to make people feel guilty

Watchtower articles are written to lead you to the conclusion they want. It’s a salesman tactic designed to sell you on an idea.

The fear of being disfellowshipped is the glue that holds the organization together.

The problem with Capitalism!---Billionaires
by pistolpete inas imperfect and flawed capitalism is, it has worked better than other forms of economic and political systems-so far.
it’s very simple in “theory.” capitalism is an economic and-or, political system in which a country's trade and industry are controlled by private owners for profit, rather than by the state.
in other words, keep government out of it as much as possible.

It is up to local government to enact and enforce labour law to protect workers rights. Ultimately it is in the best interest of the billionaires to have a happy, well paid workforce. Who will buy the crap they are selling if the small guys don’t have disposable income?
A lot of these guys(bezos, musk, zuckerberg, gates) started out in their parents garage with one of their college buddies. They catered to our needs and wants and we willingly gave them our money. Instead of buying from Amazon early on I should have been buying Amazon early on.
The beauty of capitalism is that anyone can share in the success of these billionaires if we make the right choices.

Who cares. The masses create the wealth for Bezos and Gates by buying their products or services. If you don’t like it don’t buy from them. Obviously they are providing value to people or we would spend our money elsewhere. All of their money eventually ends up back in the economy for someone else to use. These guys won’t live forever and their descendants can have fun squandering the money.

Do you think “Eventually” the Whole World will become Socialist?
by pistolpete inwhen i say; “socialist” i don’t mean everyone is equal.
instead i am referring to “leaders” being rich and powerful, whereas the ordinary citizen being poor, and powerless.. i was surprise that the majority of the world is run by socialist government.
the last few countries that are not socialist are the united states and parts of europe.

I think capitalism on a small level needs to be preserved. Everyone needs the ability to earn an income for themselves and to provide for their family. Not everyone has the ability to work as an employee due to disabilities that the workplace does not make allowances for. Capitalism gives these people an opportunity to thrive.
