It’s supposed to be a really good pain killer. How do jws feel about aspirin or Tylenol?

1995 generation change
by Gorb innow, many years later, i remember the 1995 generation change, very well.. since early youth, hearing my father explaining in field service the 2520 years.
it was his main theme in the field.. with the change my doubts started.
with some jw friends we did not trust the organization anymore.

I was guilted into getting baptized in the 80s because that generation was getting soooo old. In 95 was when a lot (including me) started to question. Then when they changed it again to the overlapping generation it was verifiable bullshit.

Sep. 2021 Broadcast: more money
by neat blue dog inin the latest jw broadcast, anthony morris the turd gives a talk about donations.
to camouflage this, he starts and ends the talk by saying that isn't actually what he's doing.
first he starts with the usual disclaimer, 'wt has never begged for money like christendom and we never will', you know the drill.

I see this as the result of taking over ownership of the local Kingdom Halls. The local congregation used to take pride in their building and make sure it was well funded and maintained. Now that the halls are centrally controlled it becomes someone else’s problem.

Is this New Light coming or just some crackpot?
by pistolpete inthis experience was posted about a year ago.
it seems like a crackpot co was giving his prediction of what "might possibly happen in the future" .
now it seems like he wasn't such a crackpot after all.. quote.

It takes a while, but eventually a person finds his way out.
by pistolpete init hard to believe------you don't have the truth.. sometimes, for many----it takes half of your life -- or more---to figure it out.
it was like swimming upstream with lead boots pulling you back in.
and the closer you got to the "real" truth----the further away you strayed from your intimate group.

I had a gut feeling something was not quite right for a long time. My waking up coincided with when high speed internet became available in our city.
I’ve taken the pimo route. I can play the game fairly well it seems. I’m happy now and that’s what counts. I do enough so the elders don’t harass me but not enough so they want me to do more.

Religion and Coronavirus....
by mikeflood inhave you heard this?
in the country of guatemala, by presidential mandate, all religion meetings should be celebrated only on-line!.
generally speaking, i wonder how worlwide restrictions on religious activities because of the pandemia are affecting them ...and the borg in particular.

I don’t think many want to go back to meetings. Field service was a waste of gasoline and with the new privacy laws it was difficult to follow up on interest. Watch for Kingdom Hall for sale signs in a town near you.

An old friend was all nice until she found out I was DF'd!!!
by Lynnie inwell this is almost funny to me at this point.
i've been out since i was 19 and i'm now 65. i have uber jw cousins that of course now shun me big time.
funny how when my uber jw started declining in health all of a sudden they "needed" me and i had to help with her care blah blah after being shunned for years.. my mom passed away a couple of years ago and i sent out the death/memorial announcements to her friends far and near.

You’ve been out for 45 years and the jw rumour mill hasn’t sent her a memo yet?

The Impact of Less "Appointed Men" & This Site Thank You
by JWTom inwith the passing minimus, we all may think about what this site has meant to us personally.
i lurked here for quite a few years before becoming active as a poster....still i consider what i have done to be very slight compared with others.
may minimus rest in peace and a big thank you to all that have helped me here over the years.. a new member that is a pimo elder (reservations) posted here about how he could wake people up while remaining a pimo elder.

Asking questions and allowing people to come to their own conclusions is the only way to convince people their thinking is flawed.
