The more I age the more I realize how the institutionalized fear has affected my thinking and how I react with others.

What are the benefits of doubts?
by psyco inwhat are the benefits of having created the human mind being able to have doubts inside (or regarding) the true religion (jude 22)?.
because if you have doubts, you are not sure, so it is difficult to believe and trust.
and if it is difficult to believe and trust, it is even more difficult to have faith since it is the "assured" expectation of what is hoped for (hebrews 11:1).

If no one ever questioned anything humans would still be foraging in the woods to eke out an existence.

Resistace to going back to meetings
by truthseeker inlot going on.
i had a covid divorce last year over zoom.
not pretty but i got a good deal.. anyway,.

The first in person meeting was well attended. Since then more and more are staying at home on zoom. I would say it’s 50/50 at the moment.
It will be problematic to end the zoom meetings as COVID is still a health risk to the elderly.

Caleb & Sophia - The Watchtower gets weirder
by Listener inthe latest video release 4/4/22 (lesson 44 'don't give up') in the comic series of caleb & sophia just got weirder.
the plot is about caleb & sophia preaching door to door, caleb with his father and sophia with her mother.
it shows each of them having doors slammed on them four times.

How far do we get away from 1914
by PimoElder inhow far do we get away from 1914 before they have a new light and admit it was all wrong?.
they cling to the old theory of the 77 week prophecy from the wrong date that jerusalem was destroyed .
with the overlapping generations nonsense still we are getting too far away from 1914. what will they say if we get to the 2030s and they still cling to 1914?.

Too many people are in for the social aspect and many are stuck in due to family/work. No one really mentions prophecy anymore. It’s not like it used to be.

What are Jehovah's Witnesses' stance on home ownership?
by timothytha inwhat do people usually think of when they buy a house?
"i will probably live here for a long time" (you're invested with your time), "i will save money by building equity over time".
(you've invested in yourself financially for the long run) of course, i wouldn't be able to list the numerous reasons why people want to buy a house.

If you want good financial advice from Jehovah’s witnesses observe what they DO and not what they say. Does the Jehovah’s Witness organization own Kingdom Halls, bethel facilities, and speculative real estate in high end neighborhoods?
Kinda looks like they do, so individual Jehovah’s witnesses shouldn’t criticise home ownership. If the payment is similar to what you would pay in rent you should buy the house. Some markets the payment is considerably less than rent so it’s a no brainer.

Watchtower Jul 22 - Jesus directed the GB on how to deal with Covid
by Listener in14 jesus provides wise direction in times of crisis.
the benefits of that direction were evident when the covid-19 pandemic broke out.
while many in the world were uncertain about what course to take, jesus made sure that we received clear guidance to keep us safe.

Hiddleswife:
I think it takes 7 years of university to have the skill set to create a vaccine.
Why would Jehovah bless university when the watchtower condemns it?

With the jw covid death rate so much higher than other jurisdictions,
and them saying Jesus directed their covid response either
A. For some perverse reason they are artificially inflating their covid stats and think the publishers can’t do basic math.
B. Dr. Theresa Tam is a better doctor than Jesus, or
C. The governing body are completely full of shit.

More fear mongering. It’s just part of the mental manipulation to keep the donations coming in and the two Marks fed, housed and clothed. A few first class plane tickets to give a district assembly part in a warm country don’t hurt either.
Humans are suckers to be conned by these takers. I ain’t busting my ass to subsidize these entitled clowns.
