When buying high priced used cars you always have to factor in higher financing rates than buying new and the fact that there usually is no to little warranty left.

We’ve been criticized for having a car that was too plain with not enough options.
Seems like they’re never happy so I’ve concluded there is no point in doing a song and dance to try to please them.

They sound like the Trump/Kushners of the jw world. Well connected
i saw a statistic the other day that something like 25% of all the debt that the us has incurred since 1776 was created in the last 12 months.
that's because they have printed so much currency and instead of letting that stop them, they are going to continue printing more to go on a spending spree on crazy green-new-deal schemes and union handouts.. does anyone think that this can be anything other than inflationary?
they are effectively stealing the wealth of everyone to then hand money out to people.

It is kinda sad that people can’t see what’s really happening until it’s too late. Some never figure it out. I believe the school systems purposefully omit life skills and money management skills from high school curriculums to maintain a population of wage slaves to keep the elites in their positions.
Its a lot like the watchtower system. Keep them smart enough to tend to a literature cart but dumbed down enough so they won’t leave and stop donating to the organization.
how many times did you see elders hounding congregation members to quit their jobs due to missing meetings?.
my brother worked at a grocery store at 16 years old.
he would miss tuesday's ministry school due to his work schedule.
There are a lot of witnesses with taker type personalities. They’re born that way. You’ve done the best thing by looking out for yourself.
Also many have been victims of the jw system and it’s too late for them now. I have relatives like that. They are 60 years old still trying to make it with little education with “privileges” and “responsibilities” in the congregation. It costs money to be an elder and pioneer. I see it as their cost to remain a member of the club.

They really made the circuit overseer and his wife pamper the cars so they could get top price.
The other thing I noticed was how brothers would buy these cars as a spiritual status symbol.

Wealthier elders help out retired COs for the social credits it gives them in the organization. They give because of their greed. Keeping close contact with well connected jws buys you favours like assembly parts and cushy assignments. It’s not what you know it’s who you know. It gets them and their kids ahead in the organization and that is what’s important to a lot of people.
so, back in the day, when you had an 'unruly child' and/or family members, your privileges were removed pretty much instantly right?
my entire childhood i had to hear about how me being bad in the hall or someone telling the elders about what's happening at our home, that's making it so my stepfather never gets or keeps appointments.
so always be good, don't tell anyone anything, so the men can become servants and elders and the women pioneers.. so i hear this about an elder family that pretty much broke apart.
The watchtower is a top down bureaucratic high control organization. That’s why the workload is so high for elders and no one wants to do it anymore. They made their bed and now they have to lie in it. They could run a much more efficient business if they didn’t have so many rules.
The other thing affecting volunteers is blue collar workers in the organization. Who wants to drive a bus, mop floors or pull wrenches all day and then have more to do on the weekends and evenings. You’re tired out at the end of the day. Why? Because you were told not to go to college and get an office job that you are home by 5 pm and not physically tuckered out.

As per your experience about the firefighter the watchtower social manipulation system is good at moving the goalposts. A similar situation occurred with me when I worked shift work as an orderly in a hospital. They had appointed me as a ministerial servant knowing I was a shift worker but a year or so later started putting the pressure on for me to quit my job.
An older elder I knew would miss meetings sometimes for his business from time to time and would actually carry a letter of resignation in his briefcase to call out the circuit overseer on his bullshit. When the co started questioning about it this old guy would open his case and hand him the letter of resignation and walk away. They never did remove him as an elder.
