the third study article in the august 15th wt is entitled "tired, but not tiring out.".

it is of interest that the borg are further reducing the quality of life for their members by the following paragraph (pg 24, para 11).

sometimes what complicates our lives is, not the pursuit of more things, but what we do with the things we already have.. some may experience emotional fatigue as a result of challenging health problems, the loss of loved ones, or other.

In reading through this... several thoughts come to mind.

One deals with 'professionals'... or people who have college edukashuns.

I remember, many times hearing about how Bethel is "looking for professional..." this or that.

The thing that disturbed me about this was the conflicting message that this 'request' generated... although I don't think that many JWs got it.

They first tell the people, "Don't go to school - pioneer."

So the obedient dub does as told - disregarding any thoughts of further education - perhaps even hoping to go to Bethel.

Then they send out these 'letters' fron the HQ saying, "We need professionals only. Flunikes need not apply at this time."

Sheesh! You can't win for losing. Where do these 'professionals' come from?

Ohhhhh... that's right. From those who actually got a college degree prior to having received that fateful 'knock on the door'.

Sad. Very sad. How many careers - or potential careers have they messed up?

On a similar note - someone mentioned the 'faces' and how they are looking a bit strained.

I remember going to my mother's funeral this past spring. Of course... they are all JWs - my mom, and my other siblings.

I recall my older sister, now in her mid-50's - and a spinster (as she is waiting for the 'new system' to get married - so my 'resurrected' father can 'walk her down the aisle'), was there telling a fellow JW, "Well, we thought Armageddon would have been here by now."

Yes - the look. She may have just been tired from the ordeal that she had just been through prior to - and just after - my mothers' death... but the voice was a bit shaky too. I wonder if they will ever start thinking. Probably not.

Geez..............this week has been too much and to top it off............

.................tonight i go out to dinner with hubby, meeting a couple of friends at the restaurant, and when i sit down guess who i notice at the very next table???????

the pedo's elder brother, with his idiot wife and another couple.i think they were more uncomfortable than us.. it was very tempting to say something or better still throw a plate at them, but i did behave despite consuming quite a bit of alcohol.. that's all............i'm just soooooo sick of having them constantly in my face.

Ummm... if they were at the table right next to you though... perhaps your tables' conversation could've revolved around pedophile 'statistics' being quoted all night.

"Did you know that the average pedophile... " etc.

I think, if voiced loud enough to be heard at the neighboring table, it may have made their night miserable - and the restaurant could have sold a lot more alcohol at their table, too. *grin*

(In case my typing skills are not good enough - I need to let you know that I am in NO way belittling your situation. I am sincere in my words - if you want to have the upper hand in any situation - you make the other party feel 'nervous' somehow.)

What is the safest way to kill (er...displace) a skunk?

we see this damn skunk this time of year a lot when we drive into the yard.

now the dog has gotten sprayed.. a man and his dog only want to go through this once.. .

I say you 'borow' KLS's hornet's nest for a day... and introduce your skunk to it.

Actually... it may benefit both you and KLS. Your skunk will get chased by angry hornets... and the hornets will get a whiff of exotic 'skunk perfume'.

It sounds like a win/win situation to me.

I find this '16 questions' bit somewhat amusing.

I can see the day when - in order to 'keep the meeting going', the fella in charge will be handing out pre-prepared answers to 'random' folks prior to the meeting... just sose he can be sure to get answers from more than his wife, in the audience.

Update after talking to family services.

i rang family services this afternoon.. the woman i spoke to was very helpful and honest.. firstly i told her i had rung because the person that abused my child had been seen by me pushing a toddler in a pram and by a friend of mine tickling and touching children at the meetings.

i expressed how fearful i am for the children in the congo.. she wanted the pedos name, my name, my kid's name etc.

she asked what he did to my kid and when i told her she said he was an abuser..........no kidding!

What you have said is most sensible.

I was worried about the 'flyers' idea - or any other idea that makes it look like the JWs are being 'persecuted'. (Sheesh!)

You can be this man's 'nightmare' by being his shadow. He will ALWAYS be looking over his shoulder.

My child's abuser tickles and plays with children after meetings.

yep..........that's what a sister told me today on the phone.. i emailed her because she is in the pedo's congregation and knows the family of the toddler i saw the pedo with.

i needed information and i knew she would be happy to speak to me.. after the initial pleasantries and chit chat, after her telling me how the convention talks brought out that the borg needs to be realistic with it's expectations of children, after expressing joy at my family's happiness since leaving the borg...................i asked her about the brother who's child was being pushed by the pedophile.

when she told me there are 2 kids in the family, a boy and a girl (a perfect package for the pedo), she asked me 'why all the questions?

This is indeed a terrible thing that is happening.

I think that going to the authorities is the best way to handle this chap. Even if you need to jump through a few hoops to do it.

Actually... forget that. Go to the media. Make THEM aware. THAT will get the police departments' attention quicker than repeated phone calls.

The media usually likes a good story to air on the evening news. Try to get printouts of facts about him prior to approaching the media. His criminal record, or conviction report... something that links him with molestation of children - in print, and official.

I would also anonymously let the parents know - if they know the info is coming from a 'disfellowshipped' individual (regardless of the reason for your DFing), they will toss it as rubbish, and not really pay attention to the message.

Try not to 'tip off' the molester to what is going on - just in case he decides to disappear into the woodwork like the cockroach that he is.

When I was a lad, I seem to recall the WTBTS going through history and picking and choosing mis-fits, but well-known figures, and doing 'articles' on them in the Awake.

I also seem to recall that they tried to claim that these folks were part of the overall scheme of things in their twisted organization.

(Of course, it would be impossible to refute their claim... the person is long dead and gone.)

As for specific names - I don't recall any.

you know, i never had a clue why people did this.

it's not like kingdom halls in different cities look different.

they just have a different shape, a different shaped yard, trees in different locations, and some had that car stop thingy which stopped you from getting wet.

Help with Hornet's

i am talking a 3to 4 ft hornet nest in a tree that if you make any movement near it they sworm by the thousands.

how do you get rid of a nest that big?

the nest is actually on the land next to me , only about 10ft from my polebarn , i know of the person that owns the land ,he has no home there just uses it for hunting.

When I was a teen, I had a workshop at my mom's house. It was in the back of the garage - and had a side door for entry.

One time, yellowjackets decided to build a nest right outside the door, under the eaves.

Well... I was not too keen about being swarmed everytime I wanted to go in, or out of my workshop.

They were right near the porch light that I used at night, so... when it was dark, and they were all asleep, I'd be inside, and flip on the switch to the light.

To them, the sun had risen, and it was time to start working on the nest. They would get active... a bit groggy from the 'short night', and confused that the 'daylight' seemed to be only local to the nest.

After about 30 minutes, I'd turn off the switch, creating 'night time' for the yellowjackets. Sure enough, they'd settle down to a much needed sleep. Confused, but happy for the darkness.

After 30 or so more minutes, 'flip' up somes the sun. Time to wake up and get busy!!

I did this night after night for a few weeks... guess what? they couldn't take the 'long hours' - and moved - lock stock and barrel. They abandoned the nest.

Oh well... you may not have a light nearby to use... but it sure would be fun to watch them beggars 'get active'.

I don't remember anyone here saying that man was ape-like. Just that skulls have been found that date back 30,000 years. YOU are the one bringing up man was 'ape-like'.

Many of the structures that are un-explainable like some of the pyramids, and the Sphynx, ALSO date to prior to a 6,000 year timeframe. I believe the Sphynx has been dated to about 11,000 years. (The Sphynx ALSO has water damage up high which suggests that it has been under water at one time.)

Anyway... if one cares to look - logically - at the evidence that exists - and not get bogged down in JW, or religious fairy tales - then things start to make sense.

Man... intelligent man... existed prior to the Adam and Eve myth.
