prove to me that jesus is the messiah.
i for my part do not believe there is a satan the devil.
he does not exist.
there is a creator, but no oposite number, no satan.
thank you jam... ;) (see my earlier posts)
the only time "satan" is used in the TNK is when it describes a person/angel's purpose/action. never ever ever refers to an actual entity that is named Satan, or even evil for that matter.

snowbird.... where in the TNK does it say that the serpent was "Satan" or that "Satan" is the source of evil? it's all much much much later theology.

snowbird..... how is satan the one source of evil? especially when you see in Biblical Hebrew, that it isn't a name or title for one specific being. it's an action.

snowbird.... how did the belief start in the garden? it was just a serpant. if "Satan" WAS the serpent, wasn't he then punished by being made to crawl on his belly over the face of the earth? i would think, that if "Satan" WAS the serpent, that this would mean that he was thrown to the earth then and there. yet, in Job, "ha-satan" is one of the angels who has a place in heaven.
1 choronicles, is again an angel sent by G-d. what was his job? giving a hard task like counting all those people would have taken some time, and acted as a hinderance in way. if it was "Satan" (being a certain fallen angel) then where is his evil act in that scripture? he told them to count the people. it was G-d who ended up getting mad cause Joab screwed up, and it had nothing to do with "Satan".

i don't think you get that "satan" isn't a name. not even a fallen angel.

snowbird... look up 1kings 5:18, psalm 109:6, 2 samuel 19:23, zechariah 3:1-2, and job 1:6 in a good Hebrew/English Tanakh. look for how the term "satan" is used. in Hebrew, it's spelled: "sin" "tet" "final nun". look for those letters in the scriptures.
use this website to see which letters i am reffering to: ancient-hebrew.org/7_home.html

snowbird..... where in the TaNaKh (old testament) is "Satan"? it's MUCH later theology and isn't rooted in the TNK. so where did the belief start?
