I held a sign up a couple of years ago. It was an interesting experience. For all the love that is supposed to be in the Organization, I didn't see any of it. I don't think I saw a single smile amongst the masses that passed me. My sign simply read, "God loves you and we do to." I was once in the org., but now I'm free.
Two things of note happened that day. 1) I got to chat with a young lad (18 or 19yrs) for quite awhile; until his mother found him. 2) I saw my folks there. Like obedient puppy dogs," they passed without a word. I did acknowledge them with a, "Hi Dad!" (I don't think he appreciated it.)
I tell you, my heart really goes out to all those long-faced people. You'd think they just got out of a funeral.
Talk about mind-control.
Oh well.
At least I escaped.

Need to vent... advice is welcome
by SlayerLayer inwhen i was 13, all of the other kids in my congregation were taking home school, getting them out of the "bad association" in public school.
they talked me into it too.. of course, at 13 trying to get me to actually do the schooling was a feat that no one could master.. i worked for a brother in the cong.
full time, and never finished the schooling.. so...flash forward.

Been there. Done that. Get that GED and go get some more schooling. (Even a class a semester.) Even if it takes ten years, you'll eventually get that degree and then the $$$ will start rolling in.
I'm 40 and am just finishing my 2 year A.S. degree. Hey, it's better than being 40 w/o a degree. I'm looking forward to "rewarding" job opportunities. Good luck! We're all pulling for you. -

On Belief In God
by Big Jim init is an insult to god to believe in god.
for on the one hand it is to suppose that he has perpetrated acts of incalculable cruelty.
on the other hand, it is to suppose that he has perversely given his human creatures an instrument -- their intellect -- which must inevitably lead them, if they are dispassionate and honest, to deny his existence.

God is cruel and perverse? Education leads to the denial of the supernatural? Hmmm...
You've made alot of assumptions about God and his character in your statements. Are you sure about this? -

Hey, Fred.
Remember,
"He who does not Know to ask questions is lost. He who knows to ask, but does not, is a fool."
I think most of us prefer not to be lost fools. -

New Here Also- Thoughts on the current state of JW
by secretjw ini am a baptized witness... i've been around it most of my life.
i've been baptized for a while now.. just as a topic of thought, what do you think is the current state of the society/jehovah's witnesses today?
it seems like we're in the last days.... but then again, the last days have been going on for 60+ years!

Ditto Gopher!
I'll add one more thing.
Remember the Boreans? Search the SCRIPTURES for truth (lay aside any man-written material--hint, hint) If you find that difficult, then you must ask yourself, "Where is my allegiance? God or the Watchtower?" Let God show you the way, not the Watchtower or any other controlling organizations.
Hey, I speak from experience. (Been there, done that.) -

God wouldn't want to live with them forever, either. I thought I read about 'those people' in the NT; didn't Christ call them, "Brood of vipers" or the like? Hmmm...

Disfellowshipping Doesn't Sever Family Ties?
by tergiversator in"disfellowshipping does not sever family ties.".
or so claims the watchtower's official faq.
so, i would like to take an informal poll: how has being disfellowshippid/ disassociated/ inactive/ just having doubts affected relations with your family?

If you really think about it, NO ONE is "worthy" to speak to God. All those JWs, or any others for that matter, who think they are good enough to rub shoulders with God are deceived. We are not good enough. That is why God gave us Christ to be our access to Him. NOT the Watchtower Society! Listen to Gopher...talk to God through Christ and you'll be heard. Best wishes to you.
