It's not Gehenna because it's only Gehenna when explicitly described as so. Death is not synonymous with Gehenna, it is with Hades and Sheol though.
When to apply Hades/Sheol vs Gehenna is subjective because the Bible only gives ambiguities when speaking of Gehenna.
BTW I am not a Christian, I am just playing the Devils Advocate here and using logic to reason out this topic.

Another interesting point. Is that the Bible makes stark difference from just 'dying on earth' in some way, and 'being thrown into Gehenna' by God.
Adam and Eve's punishment was death (on that day they shall certainly die), not Gehenna which is Eternal Death. So logically ONE death would suffice for serving the punishment of Sin. Not ETERNAL death. Which means God would have no problem ressurecting ANYONE who has died onto Heaven or Earth, regardless of his past deeds or religious affiliations.

To add further, once you die you get a 'free ride' to the New System because of this scripture... So why have Christ's ransom if just living out 1 earthly life will accomplish the same thing?
Christ died for our sins (according to Christainity)
The punishment for Sin is death (according to the Bible)
So once you die, you have served your sentance... seems to me that Christ died for nothing since according to this scripture there is ANOTHER way to pay for sin.

the second big one is if the witnesses only started up in 1890 - 1900 did jehovah not have anyone else doing the preaching work?.

at first it seemed like it was just the "spiritually weak" who really don't care or do much field service.
How long will it be before the Borg launches their own social networking site? That would be the logical thing and then they could tell everyone to shutdown their facebook accounts because the faithful and discreet slave had lovingly provided a way for Jehovah's people to stay in touch.

So how many ex-jws do you know to the extent of their religious beliefs or lack thereof. Done a survey of JWN? How many ex-jws do you think there are that never post here or come here compared to the ones who do?
reading through this board it is apparent that there is a good chunk that are still christian. My title does sort of imply that they might be in the majority, but that's not true. It should say "why have SOME ex-jws."

Jesus did live, fellows. Pliny the Elder knew that this "Christus" was the one for whom early followers gathered to honor. Rome under (I think) Trajan punished them for these gathering where they pledged their determination to defraud no one and to commit no fornication, etc. Around that time Polycarp was discipled by the apostle John who was an eyewitness to the existence of Jesus.
This reasoning is as faulty as JW reasoning. Look harder my friend. I do not mean to demean or bash your faith, but look deeper.

Hmmm, wonder where they got THAT kind of thinking from...? Sure a witness can give you "fact after fact" as to why the JW org is guided by Jehovah using their little gems of logic.

There IS NO historical record of Jesus Christ, the FLOOD DID NOT HAPPEN. It's is painfully obvious that the Bible is a fraud, just like it is painfully obvious that the JWs are frauds, you just have to do the same thing you did to the JWs to see the absurdities of the Bible...
TAKE A STEP BACK AND LOOK... REALLY LOOK at the Bible and you will find it as fraudulent as the JWs themselves.
