here in czech republic wtbs opened new bethel home for some 60 workers about 18 years ago.
it was presented as a proof jhvh is blessing and aproving wtbs and of course as a sign that the end is so close.... recently i had with my mil discusions about wtbs selling their property in many countries and cuting costs... she did not believe me..... last week we went to visit her and she told me there was an anouncment at her meeting, that bethel is closing down and the building will be sold.
only translating department will remain in the country in other premises and everything else will be moved to slovakia.. recently there is bethel closing down in spain and italy and several assembly halls being sold here in europe.. i hope this will open eyes to many jw to see the gb in fact does not believe in end being so close .... albert.

something jws say that to a lot to people who have left or are leaving the org.. i find it very a very ironic statement since the wt and awake, or any wt literature for that matter, is never critical of itself and never directly addresses refutation of their doctrine and predictions.... i was raised a witness, as many of you were.
i have been subjected to "one-side-of-the-coin" for almost 2 decades!
the only true way to bring balance to my information is to look at the other side of the coin and give it great consideration.... -sab.
It kills me to hear JWs tell people, "If you wanna know what JWs believe, ask one, or go to our org's website. Everyone else is lying."
If a car dealer said that any sane person would laugh in their face and go find another place to buy a car.

Ask them if they were planning to buy a car, would they only read the literature provided by Chrysler and no one else?
This is an interesting analogy. The WT would apply this analogy to potential converts and encourage ones to "check them out" etc etc. But once baptised that kind of mindset is not tolerated.

i remember growing up and hearing all sorts of stories about demonic activity from people.
some would be experiences that people had going door to door and visiting a "witch" or "warlock".
some would inadvertently go to a fortune tellers door and have a demonic experience.. i was always facinated by all the stories.
There are literally millions of testimonies about the super natrual. Problem is you can never separate the cooky from the level-headed. Even sane people can go through times of major stress and have an insane experience.
Fact is, the supernatural is fairly harmless from the stories I have heard, just spiritual mischeif if anything. And that's if it's even real in the first place.

how did satan tempt a person who has no wrong desires?.
Where in that scripture does it say that Jesus is all powerful?
Huh?

i have always struggled to understand what prayers god answers and which ones he avoids.
most religions teach that god answers prayers, so people must feel that their prayers are being answered, yet the type of prayers seem to be very selective.. .
if god answered broad based prayers, then children in third world countries would not be starving, so he does not seem to interfere in global issues.
Another logical fallacy is "praying for someone" - although I do reccomend it for yourself, there is no way God does something just because a lot of people prayed for it.
That would mean the more friends you have the better chance you have of surviving cancer!

Obviously God answers the prayers which are in his view necessary.
Because "obviously" God answers "some" prayers? Why are you making this audacous assumption?

I used to think that was a bit a of a stretch of God's time
Omnipotence and omnipresence isn't limited by time.
